New Med To Repalace My Dilaudid Rx- Nucynta Er
UpdatedI was having issue finding my Dilaudid Rx. I ran out and the pain was unbearable. (I used my Rx for Tramadol 50mg x 4-6 daily to alleviate any withdrawals. It doesn't do much for the pain.)
My doc switched me to a new time released med Nucynta ER or Tapentadol. It works great. It comes in 50mg - 250mg. Equivalent for my Dilaudid 4mg x 4 was Nucynta ER 150 mg, 1 q 12 hr. but we had to work up to that dosage through titration. It says not to cut the pill and I have not tried.
If you have true pain and a legal doc, try this. It is readily available at CVS, usually the 24 hour stores. I don't wake up in knots and crying in pain. I am very relieved not to have to drive to 15 different drug stores and be looked upon as a junkie/criminal to get my meds. This works for now and I'm not in pain.
NOTE: If you are taking pain meds to feel high, it's not going to work for you. Take as prescribed and get the dosage right with your doc.
