How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 13)

Updated

Im Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx

I went to rehab and when I got out I was going to NA meetings and had no energy I got prescribed to suboxone after everyone said dont do it. I have been on it for two years this fall. I started at 16mgs a day and am down to 1/4 mg a day. I am starting a new job Wednesday and need to get off. It's too expensive and I hate being on it. I mean 1/4 is such a small dosage does it even do anything? Or is it all in my head? I'm debating about going to my sub doctor one last time to get another script or to just resist and quit. When I start this job I won't have time to go by time I get out of work the office will be closed. I mean this is insane help please any advice success stories just your honest feedback would be greatly appreciated I'm so tired of beig a slave to this mess!!!!

Please see my previous postings. Go to GNC, get Sam-E. Do NOT get it at rite aid or CVS! The ones there don't work I've tried! GNC has the enteric coating. You have got to heal the brain. It's the brain that gets destroyed when using drugs, whether prescribed or not. Sam-E works wonders with Vitamin B complex droppers. Take Fish Oil, and eat lots of Fish too. Take regular supplements, try 5 hour energy also as it is completely natural. 5 hour energy has something called L Tyrosine in it, which you can also get at GNC for a more powerful dosage...this stuff also heals the brain. Take Sam-E in the morning on an empty stomach, with soda which will help it work faster. It will take awhile to kick in but give it a chance. Also, for sleep, if you can get a script for neurontin/gabapentin (a popular mood stabilizer), to take at night only, but make sure not to take too much and take around 4-5 pm. Taking it later than that and you won't wake up! Look online, many people have gotten off of oxy's, methadone, etc with gabapentin and I'm doing all of this now that I'm telling you. If you want, please keep in touch and we can help each other. {edited for privacy}...I will respond!

sam e helps to replace serotonin and dopamine which the brain stops making when you use drugs...I was on subs for seven years, H for two b4 that, and been using everything since age 12...im now 33....remember those commercials this is your brain on drugs. ..we gotta work hard to be even a little normal again

Mno, you asked if a 1/4 of a Suboxone was much. As a person who was on 3 long acting narcotics at once, I will tell you, it really is amazing how strong Suboxone is and how even a little helps. Even 1/3 of 1/4 pill. The problem is the half-life is so long 72 hours. So after 3 days, you start feeling worse. Now a lot of it can be in your head too, hence the I'm afraid of getting off or think I can't. These last posts are excellent advise! GNC and Whole Foods are your new supply home or should be. Good Luck and keep up the fight! Z-Man

I know your post was a while ago so you may have found it but it's called naltrexone. It is available in a pill, an injection or an implant. For suboxone users like us the pill is not recommended because it's just another replacement. the injection or implant is most likely what they will suggest. This drug has been around since the 70's but was designed for alcoholics then they found it works for a few other dependencies. I myself have gone through a roller coaster of drugs before settling on Suboxone. I am beyond ready to be done with this. Only down side is the alternative is extremely expensive...and there is no guarantee for complete sobriety that is on us.

wow guy's I play with about 24 mg a week because im a moron, I brought it down to nothing , and I feel depressed and I get the hot and colds, it's only been 3 days since I touched , i''ll be better in a few more day's , my mind can't even rap around 36 mg per day my heart and love go's out to all of you, remember it only takes 36 hours to get out of your blood , then it's all down hill from there.

Yes Apple Cider Vinegar pills help a lot. But just try to take other vitamins, especially vitamin B's and C. If you can't eat - DON'T. It's just your body's natural response to be sick to your stomach so listen to your body. The less you intake, the faster your liver will work to focus on just the Suboxone - not food, cigarettes, alcohol other pain pills etc....I learned my lesson the hard way. ACV is the magic solution for so many things

Joey, so many people have done what you are doing and they went back to Subs every time! Don't be afraid to go back to Subs - just start at a low dose, like 1/8th which is a small silver....less is more when it comes to Subs. It's better than relapsing. I just tried to jump off for the 3rd time in 8 years from 1 8 mg strip per day. I tell myself that I'll make it through every time and I never do. I'm just not ready yet and need counseling first. I'm not ashamed to say it either. So many people judge and I almost became one of them, and until you realize that Suboxone is the lesser evil out of Methadone, H, and pain pills, you may be ashamed too. Those people out there don't get it.

Here's the good news - Every time I try to go CT, I end up back on Subs, but I go lower and lower on my dose every time. I was at 3, went to 2, 1, and now I'm at 1/8th. I'm upset that I didn't get to completely quit this last time, but I couldn't do it because I didn't have the time to be sick. I am in Grad School and I have to work. Working isn't a biggy cause I work from home as a Freelance Content Writer. I also take online classes - but if I ever jump off from 1/8th or 1/4th, I won't be doing either school or work. I will take the entire time off to relax. I just cannot feel good or focused enough to do either. I tried my best...But I'm also still taking A.C.V. pills or with my 'juice' along with Sam-E every few days and Vit B.

zanax does work. just don't overdo it. The way I believe it works the best is if you can get the entire pill to hit you all at once. Not sure 'how' to do this, but maybe you can research it. I say this because if I take 1 before bed, it won't start working until I wake up (when I'm sick), but since it's been sitting in my stomach all night, it melted, and then as soon as I got a drink in the morning, it hit me. If it hits me before I fall asleep it's an awful feeling - mixing with an opiate doesn't feel too great, especially subs. I don't get this part...maybe I'm weird - but I pay attention to everything lol.

Zanax can work, just make sure you don't have to go to work - take time off. Coming off of subs is harder than you think, but the trick is - don't think about it lol. I've tried 3 times, and now I'm back on them again, but only a much smaller dose now. Less equals more with Subs. I'm getting closer to my end goal of getting off of Subs every time I try CT...

I am wanting to come off Suboxone and I seen this conversation Have you gotten off of it yet and how did it work?

I am successful, but I'm not. Let me explain: I made the mistake of staying on higher doses at the very beginning. I stayed on 24 mg per day for at least 1 1/2 to 2 years. I started weaning myself off, and have tried CT 3 times now. However, every time I go CT for about a month each time using pain pills and supplements from GNC, I lower my dose. I went from 3 to 2 to 1 strips per day very easily. Trying to go lower than 1 per day was very hard.

But since I stayed off of Subs for a month (a month of pure hell since I jumped off at too high a dosage once again), when I went back on them, I only needed between an 8th to a 4th of a film per day. Less is truly more.

I hope to next time maybe skip just a few days until I can't take it, and take an 8th of an 8th. Suboxone is very long lasting and strong compared to even methadone, H, and other opiates. I tried methadone for 3 days recently and it was a nightmare - I was high all day, tired by 2 p.m., and in bed by 5! I couldn't function I was so blazed. couldn't work or study. I had had enough and wasn't ashamed to go back on Subs again. I am functioning very well now once again.

I won't tell you not to try, but definitely try to lower your dose through disciplinary means at first. Use supplements such as Sam-E and vitamin b complex, exercise, meditation, massages, exercise and anything you can so you don't focus on yourself or how you 'feel'. The key is forgetting about your existence, not thinking about how your body feels, and yet at the same time, try to participate in relaxing hobbies like I mentioned to help you de-stress. Try NA or Celebrate Recovery too.
