How To Get Off Suboxone (Page 12)

Updated

Im Marina Im 24 years old and a mother of 2 beautiul little boys. From the years 2006-2007 i was heavily addicted to Oxy 80 and eventually started doing herion. I got help in sep.2007 at a methadone clinic, it worked for as long as i was on the methadone i had NO relapse's. In June 2009 i was completly off of the methadone that first day that i was on 0Mgs I went through extreme withdrawls i went through things that i would never wish upon my worst enemy! i stayed that way for a day and a half and decided to go to a suboxone doctor. He put me on 32 mgs a day which i thought was pretty high of a dose but he explained to me that methadone withdrawls was worst then any other withdrawls. so i trusted him. Now when i go to see him every month i pretty much beg for him to start the weining process and start lowering me and he pretty much refuses. After months of being on 32mgs a day he finally started tapering me down slowly, i never really thought any thing of it till now but i realized he's keeping me on the suboxne for as long as posible so that he can get my $200.00 a month. all he is, is a legal drug dealer bc now im highly addicted to the suboxone. I recently had to go a few days with out my suboxone bc i didnt have the money to see him and i went through hell. i thought methadone withdrawl was bad OMG there is no comparison. i wanted to either use which i havent done in years or rip my face off lol its funny now but it definatley wasnt funny a few days ago while i was feeling that way! So i spoke to a good friend whos going through the same thing and he told me that they just came out with a new pill to get you off suboxone. I just want to know if that's true. I tryed googleing it but i cant find any thing. If you have heard of this new pill please respond or if you even have a good way to get off soboxone as painless and posible... thanx

I'm 24 and have been on subs since I was 20. I will be 25 soon. 5 long years and I'm determined to get off.. Once I'm done I will never look back.. Recently I fell in love and I honestly feel like, if I could find the strength in me I had when I was 19 to lock myself in my house for 3 months to get off heroin.. Then I could judo chop suboxone in the face. But you see, that's what love does. love makes you feel like you can do ANYTHING. I'm sure once I start feeling s***ty I'll re-cap on that. But nothing and I mean NOthing will be keeping me from loving my partner with my full brain/body potential... I mean that with every last ounce of honesty in my soul-- if I still have one. True love heals all. This is what I believe and have always believed. Attitude is everything. Love conquers all-- eff whatcha heard. I'm a hopeless romantic I know I know. I just want to be a romantic and eff the hopeless part though. I listen to everyone that's nice and helpful. Hurt people hurt other people. Remember that. Love to you my friend.

I spent all afternoon reading All of the posts on suboxone. I took my last sliver July 9th. I am almost 60 and I have stopped for a couple of weeks now. I have time off in the summer so I planned on stopping during my vacation. I stopped seeing my pusher (central mass. rat bastard Dr.) in April an started cutting my dosage in January. He had me hooked for 8years and did not ever talk about stopping or cutting back. $45-50 grand for urine tests, psychological "visits" with his wife to listen to her talk about her horses and other crap, cash payments every month. He had his nurse call today to ask where I was not how I was. I was on 2/8mg a day from the start, way too much for way too long. I'm not feeling great, I take protein shakes,(amino acids) multi vitamins, I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, Imodium for gurgle gut, I take diazepam 20mg to sleep, diabetic stockings to help with leg cramps, and I walk even when I can hardly get out of bed, but I played golf today, I eat, I enjoy my wife, and my life. Maybe not as much as I want to, but more than I did and less than I will.Subs saved my life, take an old mans advice, get on them to get off whatever your are on, and get off as soon as you can. Do not take more than 8mg a day, it does you no good. Plan, taper down and stay with it. I went up and down before I committed to my wife. I was not the man she married and we both knew it was the subs.Find a responsible doctor that has a plan for you to come out the other side, intact. From my first day I never craved opioids while on subs, And I was over 250-300mgs of pain killers a day.
Stay positive, keep moving, weak moments are only moments. The alternative sucks, still.

FastEddie, good for you!!! I promise it will get better. If you read the past posts, you have read mine. Most people refuse to believe a life substance free or without Suboxone is necessary. It takes time, but things slowly improve...good luck and I Still am paying the price for all the prescribed pills....I just wish I could find a Doctor smart enough or knowledgeable enough to help "repair" my brain...!!! Z-MAN.

Suboxone is tough. I was on it for 6 years up until 9 days ago. I had a similar situation with my doctor. I was on 24mg/day for 4 years and I told him enough was enough. He almost laughed at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Anyways, I tapered down 1mg/month for 2years!!!!! I know it seems crazy, but it worked. July 19th I was on 1mg/day and I have had enough.

I have been rocking and rolling. Man it's been tough. I'm on day 9 and its beginning to get better though. My best advise would be to taper down to the smallest dose possible before you try and quit. It still won't be easy, but trying to quit at the dose your on..... Omg I couldn't even imagine. Try and work your way down to a daily dose as small as possible. And if your doc doesn't want you to cut down, do it on your own. Good luck and God Bless

OK. Good morning everyone. I am new to this site but not new to Suboxone films. I am a 33 year old mother of four, yep FOUR. Four and a half years ago, I started abusing pills. Percs, Oxys, you name it, I did them. Anyway, for the last 3 years, I have been on one 8mg film a day, sometimes more. Well, they are a crutch, another vice. I was miserable on them, and I lost myself completely. Sure, I had energy to do everyday things, but my mind was so clouded. I was mean and vindictive, and yes, very selfish. But, I was so afraid to go through the withdrawal, and escpecially around my kids. So I stayed on it unhappy and hating myself and who I had become. Finally, I decided I had had enough. I was 118 pounds at the time, mind you. I weened myself down for ONLY two weeks down to an 1/8th, then BOOM! Cold turkey. by myself, with the support of 1 family member, I stopped taking Subs on July 17th 2013. Yep, 25 days ago!! I won't lie or sugar coat it. It was hell. The first two days were not bad, just antsy and jumpy. The third day was hell. You will be sick. I was vomiting and had diahrrea so much, I felt like I was gonna die. This went on for about 16 days, yes 16 days. I had no focus, I slept about 3 hours a night in between throwing up, everything hurt, my back, my legs, my neck, everything. I was on the couch for at least 2 weeks. But...it does get better!! Day 25 and no throwing up, no diahrrea, no restless legs, I am sleeping about 7 hours a night, I still sneeze like 15 times a day, and I still get the chills a lot, but I did this! Little me did this by myself, no rehab, just a friend who cared and was sympathetic! I am not fully back to my old self yet, but I am getting there. Was it all worth it? Absolutely! Can anyone do it? Absolutely! You do not need to be on Suboxone forever, and yes, the withdrawal is very difficult, but it goes away. I just want to let other people out there know you are not alone, and there is light at the end of the tunnel!

You need to taper down even more first, trust me, ppl have tapered to .5mg and still suffered tremendously, email at {edited for privacy}

Kelly, (no offense) but that was a crazy way to do it! Tapering is the key. Why suffer what you did for so long? Obviously you did it and a STRONG congratualtions! I still sneeze a lot and have issues from my reaction to Serequel, but have been off Suboxone for about 6 months now. For those that want off, read old posts and taper slowly. The best tip I read was to stagger your dose. This helped a lot and no doctor could understand how hard it is to get off the stuff. When I hear the "turn to help" commercials for Suboxone, I want to cringe and wish the media would report just how difficult it is to get off Suboxone! Thank You all for sharing, Z-MAN!....

I tapered off suboxone from 16mg per day down to approx. 1 or 2 mg per day. I can go 3 days without any and the forth day I get withdraws. The withdrawal is scary and undescribable. When the withdraw gets too intense I snip a small piece off of the film and it takes care of things. I have been through mild, slow withdrawal for 2 months. Depressed, crying jags, etc. I hope that I will soon be able to stop taking even 1mg. I want to be free of this stuff so bad. Then I have to tackle the Xanax. I am on a low dose of Xanax so maby it wont be too bad. I think my life is better with a small amount of Xanax in me because I am super anxious, hyperventilate,etc. But I don't want to be addicted to any drug and have to worry about running out and facing withdrawal. The last time I withdrew from Xanax I had two seizures.

You really should taper down even lower than what you are. If you do the film, go a couple days with nothing and then snip a small piece off ( like 1 mg or even less) Do that for awhile. Go 2 or 3 days with nothing and then take 1mg or .05mg and so on. That's where I am now. Please keep in touch because we are at the same dose of detox.

Mark I am taking 1mg to .05mg every 2 or 3 days. I did go to 3 days without and the withdrawal is the scariest thing. I could not describe it to another person. I am hoping to go to .05 every 2 o3 days and then .25 every few days and then nothing. Do you think it will work? Have you detoxed from suboxone before? Please respond? {edited for privacy} Thanks

What's the best way to get off subs with out detox? I work in the hospitality and I've quit cold turkey and couldn't work because I gotta be upbeat and happy, hard to do when going thru withdrawal ! I'm trying V B complex and DLPA and St. John's worth but still going back to subs , I'm on such a low dose and am starting to think its all in my head and I should be fine if I take a week off work and just deal with it! Any info would be awesome !

I stumbled upon a small miracle. After being on subs for 7 years ive been off them for 3 weeks. I tried SAM E with vit b complex...200 mg to start and go up 200mgs every few days....i am not sick AT ALL during the day....so much energy and my brain may be healing. I get sick at night take benzos to help. I didnt expect it to work but it does try it get off subs for good even if u have to take SAM e forever. Geti it at gnc or rite aid no script needed ...takes 2 hours to kick in...take on empty stomach upon waking with vit B complex...omegas vit C

I recently went 4 days w out, i was in serious pain, so i went back, right now im at 1 mg a day, heres the hard cold facts, I have an amazing honest Dr. he is working to get me off after 9 months, he states as clinical fact, we have only a 10% chance of getting off subs and staying clean, he states, not impossible but very difficult, most ppl go back to using or subs....but its not impossible, itwill take a few times, trial and error, keep up the fight and you will win . Keep in touch, the above post is right on, go to gnc, we have to heal the brain, i can deal w 1mg sub for now, just remeber your last days of addiction, the awful cycles of waiting on bs dealers, the loss of $, the pain and suffering you and your family go thru, and it will eventually kill you or jail, you have worked this hard to come this far, keep fighting, god bless, this is a disease, fight it like it was cancer
