“Implies a crime riddled past”? Very stereotypical statement. Not true.
I’d do some research before making statements such as that one.
Here you are taking the same medicine just like the rest.

Sorry to hear you have crohns , ironically I very seldom have flare ups anymore after I stopped shovelling pain meds down my throat and it was finely diagnosed and started taking suboxone and steroids on the odd occasion when I do have flare up. I bet we are not the only two that it's happened with for crohn's but untold amounts for other diseases, I am lucky to live in Australia and it is $60 Aus a fortnight for dispensing fees so about US$45.

Re: Johnsons (# 4) Expand Referenced Message

Yes, you are so right. I too became addicted to codeine over the years because of crohns disease and the pain meds were killing me. I'm grateful for suboxone and I do not like being lumped in the same basket as a hardcore heroin user as that implies a crime riddled past which is far from the case.

Well, I just started taking subs & promethazine together, so I'm tryna figure out are the two compatible with each other.

Wow!!! You hit that on the nose. That's exactly why I'm taking both subs & promethazine due to Crohn's disease.

I hate to see people answering questions or commenting about Suboxone... It's not just for ex-opioid addicts... GET A CLUE!!!

Hi,

I'm new to the meds scene as I've been diagnosed with gastroparesis. Mine is pretty severe and the gi pain and nausea is awful. I have been prescribed oxycodone liquid since my stomach can't metabolize the pills and I get no relief. Could someone please tell me their storyline and what they had wished they had known before they started oxycodone? Is it true that taking Tylenol increases its effectiveness? Thanks! Best wishes to all on their journey.

I'm taking Promethazine and Suboxone for crohns as well! I wanted to know if there's any interaction between them... how did it effect you taking them together?

Suboxone and promethazine are OK to use together but promethazine intensifies the Suboxone, make you more sedative

What were the side effects you spoke of? I am really curious because I take the 2 meds because of my Crohn's.

I totally agree with what your saying. Suboxone is for any opiate addict. It doesn't matter what form the opiate comes in.

Oxycontin is synthetic heroin. All I repeat all, opioids are made from poppy plants - guess where heroin is made from - the same damn poppy plants. It's all the same, stop lying to yourself. Face it! I'm on oxycontin. It's a hell. Believe me.

Thank you SOOOO much for pointing that out!! I'm in a Suboxone program, and there is so much people do NOT understand about the medication! It's not heroin and it's not JUST for heroin users. You can take it for an addiction such as the Norco that individual referred to above. Do research before bashing people and their medications, please, with all due respect.

It actually is used to for "hardcore H users" its to help people get off of all types of opiates it wouldn't just be limited to codeine and hydrocodone. its supposed to be a safer alternative to methadone but it is most definitely used in the treatment of all opiate or opioid dependence.

As a person going through the motions of being clean . I've been having trouble sleeping. I did try these meds together. Yes I got some sleep but don't recommend it as it really knocked me about . The side affects r a big problem and I've been having a real struggle with them . But to those who want to b clean . Than I really don't like any of this .

Pants, yes Louie did say that you can take Norco with suboxone because it's for hardcore herion users. I'm not sure why he even put it though when this thread is about whether or not it safe to take promethazine with suboxone. Well here is my reply to both.. suboxone is used to treat opiate withdrawal/ addiction, therefore any opiate not just H. people take suboxone to get off norcos not just H but all opiates. Also buprenorphine in some cases is used for a pain medication in itself. That is what it was used for before they ever used it for opiate addiction and withdrawal. and for the promethazine and suboxone question... in some cases they do give promethazine to suboxone patients if needed.

Are you high now? That had nothing to do with what they asked.... Think about smart ass no one said anything about norco
