White Watson 10mg 325 #853 (Page 10)

Updated

I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate?

Julie, we have filled many times, Vicodin in either 5mg OR 7.5mg. So, "it only being 5mg is false. Vicodin ES is 7.5/750 dose....I know, my mother was on it and way back when we even had samples in the private clinic I worked at & managed. Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen, any mg, comes under many different names. I don't know where u took a pharmacology class but they were wrong in teaching Vicodin is the 5mg hydro only.

I am not saying it only comes in 5mg, Someone mentioned the 5/500 which is 5mg of hydrocodone. Yes, there is 7.5, I know that. I took psychopharmacology at National Louis University where I received my Bachelor's in Behavioral Science and a Master's in psychology. Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to the 5/500. I should have been more clear. Vicodin worked great for me...but everyone is different. Good luck all. . :)

well PLEASE try to do something// I contacted several lawyers today and I hope they can or WILL do something if there is enough people im sure they might be able to do something. I also used to be on vicodin and I built a tolerance that's why im on Norco now and I was too worried about the Tylenol in it so another reason I switched to norco

That is usually why people switch to Norco due to the levels of Tylenol in Vicodin. A lawsuit needs to be filed against the pharmaceutical company...

I too switched to Norco from vicodin to reduce the acetaminophen. The yelllow Norco 10/325 worked extremely well but when I received my 3 month supply mail order I didn't check it bc I had 2 wks tablets remaining. When I opened the bottle to my disappointment I have 3 months supply of white Norco that DO NOT work on pain. They only act as sleeping pill. I am so angry!! The yellow Norco stopped my pain AND I had energy to get up and do things. What has Watson done to screw up this medication?

Here is some information on how generics work:
How generics are approved:
fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesFo.../ucm100100.htm
"How are generic drugs approved? (You can copy and paste links for more info and to file a complaint)

Drug companies must submit an abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for approval to market a generic product. The Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Restoration Act of 1984, more commonly known as the Hatch-Waxman Act, made ANDAs possible by creating a compromise in the drug industry. Generic drug companies gained greater access to the market for prescription drugs, and innovator companies gained restoration of patent life of their products lost during FDA's approval process.

New drugs, like other new products, are developed under patent protection. The patent protects the investment in the drug's development by giving the company the sole right to sell the drug while the patent is in effect. When patents or other periods of exclusivity expire, manufacturers can apply to the FDA to sell generic versions.

The ANDA process does not require the drug sponsor to repeat costly animal and clinical research on ingredients or dosage forms already approved for safety and effectiveness. This applies to drugs first marketed after 1962."

Here's a way to file a complaint about the generics:
accessdata.fda.gov/scrip...tch-online.htm

One thing about the generics is that they do not have to have the same inactive ingredients. Here's the ingredients in each of the different company formulation: I realize this is not comforting, but may give you some understanding. Julie

Yes they have..all that can be done is filing complaints. Unfortunately the drug companies must comply within a 20% margin when manufacturing generics; it does suck. This forum is a great place to vent frustrations for sure, but the more people who report this, the better chances of something being done. The FDA is not so quick to move. If the active ingredient is within FDA guidelines, it is a tough fight. Good luck everyone.

ANYONE KNOW WHERE WE CAN GET THESE PILLS TESTED AT? I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP EARLY WITH EXCRUICIATING BACK PAIN THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IS THIS WITHDRAWAL??? IF SO THOSE MFERS DIDNT PUT ANY HYDROCODONE IN THESE PILLS IF THEY DID ITS LIKE1 MG OR SOMETHING I TAKE 2 AT A TIME AND FEEL NOTHING! BEFORE IF I TOOK MORE THEN ONE ID BE SICK. there is pharmacutical attorneys eeveryone should contact them just to make sure there is nothing that can be done, i have already contacted a few.

I agree. Unfortunately these white one must have the active ingredient to pass for generic, but who knows which way they went on the 20% margin. Acetiminiphine in combination with hydrocodone is what enhances the effect of the hydro which gives energy, etc. like the yellows did. Whatever filler they are using is what may be making people sick. This medication has become subpar and attorneys need to be contacted.

Does anyone know if Actavis (watson) will be making a change back to the medication to how it was before, when it worked, without any negative side effects? Or are they just paying all that inquire lip service!

I happened to call a random pharmacy and there has been no recall notice, no notice in general, nor any change in the medication. So to me that means NOTHING has changed, so not only has this company basically stolen my money, more serioulsy, provided inferior medication, thereby causing me more pain and suffering, as not only is the medication NOT effective, any one taking it is left with a number of awful side effects

Shame on you WATSON - ACTAVIS, greed over people.

they told u their going back to the way they used to be???never told me that. this is bs and one of the attorneys I contacted told me these companies are protected by some bill so they aren't liable for anything regarding generic drugs. THIS IS BS. so we are screwed they stole over $300 from me and I want it BACK I need It back and have caused me to go into a severe depression all over again as my pain is unbearable. so I guess I was the only one who contacted any attorneys.wow. nobody ccan find where to get these pills tested??? ive been searching and contacted afew places who never wrote me back. I wonder if they were tested and found to be no good or not having the ingrediants or correct mg in them if that would make a difference. I bet it would.

Re: Filing a lawsuit -
Suing Pharmaceutical Companies

If you’ve been taking a drug and have experienced dangerous side effects and/or adverse reactions, you may be able to file a product liability or defective product lawsuit against one or more pharmaceutical companies.

Generally, lawsuits involving drugs or medication are based on three different claims: defective manufacturing; improper marketing; and dangerous side effects.

No matter which type of claim you have, you’ll have to prove that you have suffered an injury, that the drug was either defectively manufactured, improperly marketed, or has dangerous side effects (depending on your specific allegations), and that your injury was proximately caused by the aforementioned manufacturing, marketing, or side effects.

In addition to pharmaceutical companies, you may also be able to sue sales representatives, laboratories, the prescribing doctor, the pharmacist, or even a hospital or other medical facility if it was involved in the drug’s distribution to you.

Class Actions

Note that class actions are one of the most common types of lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies as it allows an entire group of individuals adversely affected to bring a lawsuit together; this helps keep costs down for individual plaintiffs and also may increase the chance of a larger overall award.

If you have suffered damages from a commonly prescribed drug, there may already be a class action lawsuit out there that you may join; for this reason, you should consult an experienced personal injury lawyer as soon as possible in order to find out whether you are eligible to join such a class and also whether it would be in your best interests to do so.

One word of caution regarding potential lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies though: if you have been adequately warned of possible side effects and/or risks, decide to take the medication, and then suffer such side effects, you will not have a case against the company, prescribing doctor, pharmacist, or anyone else.

If you think you may have a viable lawsuit against a pharmaceutical company, you should contact an experienced personal injury lawyer in your area as soon as possible; the statute of limitations, which limits the time frame in which you can bring a lawsuit, is running.

Hey Web... I don't know if they're going to change back or not. I don't think they did an actual recall, they just replaced them at the pharms when new orders came in. You'd think, since they said many people had allergic reaction to the dyes, which I think is bs after they were out for years, they'd have a recall! I agree w u on the inferior products they are using now! I got some from Amneal that didn't work for me when they use to. Maybe they changed product as well....IDK. I'm sick of this! Qualitest have pink ones and no ones allergic to the red dye in those?! They work better too!

Tracy, making sure I am understanding you correctly, Watson- Actavis, has corrected the issues with the white Norco 10/325? I could care less about yellow dye as long as the medication was seamless, in that whether I took an old yellow or the new white one, I would be unable to tell the difference. If this is the case then I would go back to the Watson on my next refill, please clarify

I was thinking of trying the Amneal IP 110, are you saying those are bad? Have you had Qualitest V 3601? If so how do they compare vs the Amneal or even Watson?

thanks for the input

The white ones definitely do not work, I thought I was losing my mind when I started taking them last month. I've been receiving the yellow kind for my back and hip, and the white ones do nothing for my pain. I've been putting off hip replacement surgery and it seems like these white pills are not helping me push through the daily pain. Not only do I find myself taking extra because they're not working, but I seem to be getting headaches, I feel bloated all through my abdomen, and my legs and feet are so swollen that I had to start taking a water pill to flush it out. For those that do not suffer from an injury or a debilitating disease, you do not understand that the people on here are not complaining because they can't "get high" or whatever it is you are claiming...some of us need them to be able to walk or stand, or simply care for their families, but cannot do so because they're suffering. If I can make it through a day without feeling like crying at some point because my body is killing me, then it's a good day. My two points for this post being. 1) these new white pills do not work on chronic pain, and 2) do not judge people when you do not know what they are going through
