Watson Is Now Actavis Generic Percocet 5/325 What Is Up With This (Page 19)

I had been taking 5/325 generic Watson percocet for 4 years. Suddenly I get notified by Walgreens which I have insurance that there is no more Watson brand and I was given generic percocet 5/325 by Actavis. It is not the same at all. It has no pain relief for me. I used to break the watsons in half sometimes and never had a funny taste. I just broke one of the actavis white tablets in half and it immediately tasted like salt or alka seltzer? Has anyone had any issues with this drug too. Also, along with it not working right it has made my GI tract and stomach so ill feeling and cramping. This is not right how can they take away a medicine that someone has been on for 4 years without any problems and tell them to suddenly switch. Would a peson who has been on a certain heart medication for years be told to suddenly switch that he can't get that medicine anymore? I don't think so. I don't know what I am going to do but when it comes time to have my rx re-filled it will not be with Actavis and I will have to pharmacy shop I guess to see if I can find Watson. I am very depressed now and so unhappy I can't believe it.

Good thing I asked.....that post must've been approved awhile after because ive read the posts before and after n it wasnt there....I too found that interesting. I would think the Watson's 5/325 would still have the same fillers, just different mg of acetaminophen. Im not sure though....I haven't looked it up but I would think it would b the same since its still the same medication for the most part.

I finally got my endocet today. I found a pharmacy and it is all they carry. They said it is very well liked and they have great success with it. I said it is better then brand and they said many people say that. They also heard actavis is awful and so many of the other fillers give people a lot of problems. They will have this every refill because they are not changing manufacturers due to demand for this brand. I am so happy. The name brand made me sleepy, nauseous as the days went on and they slowed my respirations which is a feeling I hate! I do like these better then watson for me. Lola how are yours working?

I am so happy today it is unreal. I wasn't going to be able to take name brand another day. The more I took the worse the side effects got. The very first one I was ok. I don't like when I feel like I can't breath from a pill. Endocet never ever did that to me or watson. I like the endocet better because I have way way more energy. The percocet name brand made me just want to go to bed. The pharmacy said so many people complain about so many of the generics so if people are sensitive to something then they will order whatever brand the patient prefers but they always have endocet in stock. I really lucked out with this pharmacy! It's just a local mom and pop pharmacy.

Lastly my friend in Philadelphia got watson again! So something somewhere isn't right. How could they have that much in a big city?

They also told me chain pharmacies are very restricted in what they can get because CVS was going to order my Endocet and they called me to tell me they can't get it. This pharmacy can get every brand and they get it weeks ahead of your refill and hold it for you. I have never dealt with a pharmacy like this one. They ordered my other meds for me and now I don't have to worry. No more walgreens or chains for me, I am tired of all the brand switching and they can't accommodate people or understand people react to fillers and I am so sensitive I need to stick with what works and what controls my pain. I thought name brand was one of the worst, not only did it not work, but it had side effects.

Hi Lisa M. glad to hear you can get the endocet and they are working for you I wish they had worked for me but unfortunately they made me feel quesy and spacey. The first few I took weren't too bad and I thought I could take them but then after about a week the weird side effects started along with me getting that tired feeling about an hour or so after I took one. I am like you I hate the brand name. Gosh, I thought after having to pay so much for the brand name I would be okay, but again, to no avail. It is still all so frusterating and depressing to me. Everyday I think well if I only had my watson I could be doing this or I could be doing that, but now I am restricted and have to know when to say no as far as being too active because I end up paying for it the next day bad. Does your friend get the watsons still from Walgreens or a large chain or a mom and pop? I can't believe she is still getting them. The Watson percodan are the only ones I am able to take now although I don't have to take as many as I did with the percocets - don't know why that would be because the only difference is the aspirin but maybe the aspirin is also helping with any inflammation that I may be having. I know inflammation can also cause alot of pain. I still have to eat though before I take one so I don't get an upset stomach but have had no horrible side effects yet. Hope everyone is doing okay. I really wish we could all find some more Watsons. has anyone asked around anymore. There are people still asking because I was in the pharmacy the other day and over heard a man walk up to the pharmacy window and ask if they had Watson 10/325. He said he hated the Actavis and they were also hard to break. Of course they told him Watson was no longer. But there has to be some out there someplace we just haven't found it yet.

I'm glad yours are working. That's great. I have a question. I just talked to my friend. I keep asking her are you sure they are the same? She said yes. Round white ones. Were the actavis round and white in the 5/325? I think she's confused. She thinks they are the same. But get this, all of a sudden she's had horrible upset stomachs for about 3 months now! So I asked what the imprint on the pill is. I think she is getting actavis and never noticed. She uses walgreens. I am so happy with the Endocet.

And Lola when you took name brand did it slow your respirations? I hate that feeling. After the first one I seemed ok. After I continued to take them I started to feel sick and nauseous and extremely tired. I don't get that at all with the endocet. If Watson comes back I will stay with these. I am extremely pleased with the energy and pain control.

Hi Lisa M., yes the Actavis percocet 5/325 are white tablets and do look just like the old watson percocets. Ask her to look on her pill bottle and where it says mfgr ask her if it says watson or actavis. She may be confused. I am very curious to know if she has the watson or if this is watson/actavis and she just thought it was the old good watson. The brand name didn't give me slowed respiration not that I noticed but what it did do was weird. After taking it for about a week I was sitting at the computer after I took one about an hour before and all of a sudden I got this strange feeling like I was going to have a seizure. It was a very strange feeling in my head like I was suddenly going to pass out. I remember it wasn't for the lack of food because had just had a sandwich prior to taking it. I actually had to stop what I was doing on the computer. I have never in my life had any seizures or balance or movement disorders so that episode REALLY scared me and that was the last pill I ever took. I just know it was from that brand name because it has never happened with any other pill before or since that day. All these generics really scare me because of these side effects that sometimes just come on all of a sudden.

Hi Lola. She does have actavis. She didn't even notice. She gets the 5/325 and even last week she was saying she needs to see a specialist for her stomach! When she said that again I started thinking I bet you she didn't even notice. She hasn't been feeling well at all and about a month ago she even thought she had the flu. I bet you it's the actavis doing that to her. Brand name made me feel weird the entire day. I can't explain it. I honestly think it's the worst one I had yet. I am so happy to be back on the endocet. I did read others prefer it over brand also.
It amazes me she didn't even notice. I notice those things right away. The first thing I check is to make sure it's the same brand.

Hi everyone,

Sara, thank you for the advice. I am going to buy a new bathmat today, so I can take baths again. I actually have some of that lavender bath salt you mentioned. I will try to use it tonight. I'm about to go to walmart shortly. I do take ibuprophen sometimes, when the pain gets really bad. But today, I took 2 tylenol extra strength gel caps. I was working on my granny squares last night, and I had to keep putting my heating pad on. I guess I've been overdoing lately. The Mallinckrodt works good sometimes, but it only lasts about 3 and a half hours. I can't take it like that because I will run out. This morning I waited 6 hrs. before my next dose, and I thought I would die with the pain! My doctor has mentioned cold therapy, but for me heat works the best. I will let you know how the hot bath works. Have a fantastic day! I hope everyone gets to do something they want to do today.

Hi Lisa M., at least now your friend knows what is causing her stomach issues and i hope she doesn't take anymore and hopefully she just didn't get her rx re-filled and has to wait another month. I hope she doesn't take anymore. Do you know if your friend takes more than one drug because it may be that if she takes more than one she didn't notice it right away but I only take that one pill so for me I noticed the difference almost immediately. I could tell right away that this pill was different. My friend takes morphine, soma and percocet and when they changed he didn't even notice it but that's because he takes more than one drug to control his pain. I am sure this Actavis crap is not flying off the shelves and people are looking for alternatives since it causes everyone that has tried it major side effects and it just doesn't work. I really believe it is loaded with fillers and no oxycodone is in it no matter what Actavis claims.

Lola...I thought u were done taking the actavis awhile ago? Now im curious about the endocet. Im gonna have to try to find a place that has them in stock. I go to the dr tomorrow for my refills so wish me luck. Does anyone know of any pharmacies that carry endocet that are not a mom n pop place?

Jennifer, yes I have not taken any of the actavis since the very first time I still have them on the shelf I am taking percodan by Watson now 5/325. Lisa M. wanted to know if the Actavis looked the same as the Watson and I told her they were a white pill I still have the bottle. But I will never take one again. You can get the endocet at Walgreens and I am almost positive they can order it for you if they don't have it but the Walgreens that I use has 3 bottles of it on the shelf and I know they can order it. What have you been taking for your pain? Is it not working is that why you want to try the endocet?

Lola, do you mean people are asking for Watson 10/500 or 10/325 ? They don't make the 10 mg hydrocodone with 500 Acetaminophen any longer. But they do still make 10 mg hydrocodone with 325 Acetaminophen.

Jennifer walgreens told me they can no longer order them because of cost. The walgreens pharmacist was so nice! She said to find a local place. You may be able to see if Rite aid can order. I lucked out with this pharmacy. They can order in any brand you want but due to demand they always have endocet in stock. Lola I do believe my friend didn't have the flu and she was going through withdrawal with the change and she's always very sick in her stomach. So much so she now wants to see a GI doctor and her pain is no longer controlled. I told her I bet it is the actavis! Unreal. Jennifer I love endocet. I honestly haven't felt this good in years! I was even telling my doctor and she said she heard they are great also. I really hope you can find some just to give it a try. I get such an energy boost because it takes the pain away.

Jennifer I do not think you will be disappointed. I really don't. They work way better then the mallinckrodt and even better then brand name! Brand name made me so sleepy. I just wanted to go to bed. Lola did that happen to you also? They made me so nauseous. Name brand on the bottle says manufacturer endo. But they aren't the same as endocet. I heard endocet used to be considered a brand name. The pharmacist said percocet and endocet are made by endo pharm but they are different.

Jennifer, I remember taking the very first endocet and not having side effects. It even got rid of my anxiety I was having about the whole pill fiasco. However after a few name brand as I thought I would have to adjust. Yuck! The more I took the worse I felt. I wanted to cry at the thought of being stuck with them for a month. I couldn't get nothing done. I was so sleepy. It slowed my respirations to. It also made my stomach make a lot of noise and I had some of painless muscle twitches that were so annoying. I noticed another guy posted he prefers endocet over name brand any day and my insurance covers brand name. I paid 6.50 for them. They aren't even worth that. lol

Bl......they no longer make the Watson's 10/325 generic Percocet......they replaced them with actavis generic 10/325. Why do u think they are still making them?

I am taking the mallinkrodt generic Percocet 10/325 now n they are not helping control my pain enough. They help a little but a little is not enough. Im walking with a limp because of the pain that I still have. I need to talk to my dr about increasing the amount I take. Ive been taking 3 a day for as long as I can remember. This medication is really a 4 to 6 hour dose where he has had me on every 8 hours. So my pain comes back aroung the sixth hour and I have to deal with it until I can take my next pill which sucks. And if im correct, these meds have a 3 hour half life so ive been underdosed. Now that we're no longer taking the Watson's, the pain is worse during that 6th n 7th hour before I can take my next dose. Im hoping if I can get the endocet, it wont be so bad. The Watson's use to perk me up as well so I pray the endocet s do the same too. Im tired of being in pain n laying around. I , like u lisa m, dont do drugs, I dont drink alcohol, dont abuse my meds , ive done everything as im told by my dr., and even before my car accident that caused my back issues, before I had to take pain meds, I didnt do drugs n didnt drink. In fact, I was always the designated driver when my friends n I went out to party n I didnt do drugs then either. Ive always been on the straight n narrow as they say. I dont feel high off my meds... im a mother who is unable to do the things I need to do with my kids cause of my pain n it SUXS! so im hoping if I can find the endocets, they will help me as well as they're helping u lisa m.
