Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 14)

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

I don't remember exactly what I did, thx to my new memory loss and Lyrica. I may have put in the search engine, "What is the phone number for pfyzer. " I may have just typed in their name and found their web site and foundation link that said " contact us". If you hear from them you will get a form to fill I'm and send back to them. I doubt there ever will be a law suit. With this form they will receive nrw side effects added to their TV advertisement.
I find it hard to believe that these side effects were not noticed in someone, anyone. I also think they removed those people from the study and put only those people that exhibited the least amount of side effects, and added a few more that weren't really as bad, such as weight hain a d other side effects. They will not report any long term or permanent side effect. They need to make their money to pay their shareholders they had invested .money given to them for the drug's development.
We are just an extension of their jsn trials
Once they start losing money on the drug
especially when the drug becomes generic. which will be years from now, we'll all be a bunch of bilithimg bunch of people, who will nr described as paranoid, suffering from dementia, or God forbid, people sufferimg from Alzheimer's disease, even if it didn't run in the family. Whose to say that Great, Great. Grand dad didn't have Alzheimer's. After all they kept wonderful, and miraculous medical books of medicine and psychiatry just lying around just waiting to be discovered. I didn't know what will happen to all of us, but .maybe we can save others.

Pfyzer sent me a letter asking me to describe all my side effects and how I lost my job because of Lyrica. Maybe we should all either call, write, or goggle them. That might be an answer and prevent someone else from suffering the way we have.

I have also suffered severe headaches from lyrica use. I have been on it about a year and just realized when I ran out for about 3 weeks Lyrica was causing the headaches and also black spots in my vision (floaters). I went to the eye dr. and he said this was symptoms of diabetes but I do not have that. He said my nerves were permanently damaged in my left eye and the optical nerve is swollen in my right. I am almost blind in my left eye and have stopped taking lyrica but he damage has already been done.

I went to a psychiatrist and told him about what Lyrica did to me. I forgot to tell you all, that Lyrica also left me with poor coping techniques. He was very sympathetic. He doesn't even prescribe Chantrix to stop smoking
He said he had seen too many people come into the psych ward suffering from some bad effects from that drug
Anyway, he put Mr on some other drugs and at least I'm sleeping better at night.

I posted my story well over a year ago. I a still having some really bad days and I am sleeping by 7 to 8 pm every night like when I was on lyrica except now I am awake 1,2,3 am constantly. My husband just finished chemo and radiation treatments for lung cancer. The shot they gave him the day after chemo left him with neuropathy in his feet and ankles. Last trip to the drs ,he suggested lyrica and my husband and I just looked at each other and said know way and proceeded to tell the drs what a terrible drug it was and what it had done to me. He just gave us that LQQK , like you two are nuts. My husband was also left with chemo brain, memory loss, short term. Could you imagine what that would have done or have added to that. If I thankful for ever taking this drug its that I knew my husband shouldn't be on it. God Bless you all. Bonnie

When tried and proven drugs have been around a long time the copy right expires allowing other manufacturers to come up with generic copy's, this effects drug company prophet margins so the drug company comes up with a new drug s that are rushed onto the market through corrupt FDA officials at the expense of the public .

I was lucky when I went cold yurkey . I had no side effects. Have you tried to decrease you dosage gradually. I would see if your doctor could give you some thing else for pain, I take Tylenol#3 for my pain. Any other side effects from coming off Lyrica, maybe your doctor could treat the symptoms that you are experiencing may be treated with another drug while you are tapering off the drug. The longer you are on the drug the harder it is to get off, but not impossible. If your doctor won't take you off get a new doctor. There are some out there who are aware of this drug. Your may have to see a neurologist or psychiatrist to help you. I wish you luck and God be with you

I missed one dose and woke up in horrific head pain and nausea. realized I missed my dose and immediately took the dose, then was still sick ALL DAY AND NIGHT !!!! What is with this drug??? Has anyone else had this same problems and if so - WHAT DO YOU DO??? Now I can't quit the drug!!! It's awful. hesetoswid

Thanks Janet 50 mg x2 per day was quite low but the length of time must have been the culprit , my son at 17 years of age was up to 4x75 per day for around 5 months , has not had a dose for over 4 years and still has not recovered his sharp memory as well as the anxiety disorder that Lyrica almost instantly triggered .

Janet,

rotlaw.com had a suit against lyrica. i am JUST seeing this. i was on 500 mg a day for nerve pain. Lyrica is an anti epileptic, anti seizure. After taking a little while i started having the same side effect, confusion weight gain, stuttering, etc. My Dr thought it was my pain meds and did nothing although i asked to be taken off the drug. Finally i tried to ween myself off but did it to fast had 2 seizures and was admitted to E.R. It took a Neurologist to figure out it was the lyrica not one of my other meds. An old saying in medicine " you hear hoof beats think of a HORSe NOT a ZEBRA: in other words look for the most obvious. In my case the most obvious was the pain meds post spinal surgery not the Lyrica. Cymbalta is another being sued. To me the D.E.A should be sued for approving this crap and not thoroughly testing it. Yet meds that have been around for ages, are proven and effective are taken off the market or reclassified and made difficult to get. Some of this stuff has another purpose and ppl prescribed it realize that say their nerve pain is better...soooo it gets prescribed for other than its intended purpose. i could go on and on and on

Nick, yes Lyrica did effect my memory. I couldn't think of what I was trying to say. It also caused me to stutter! My husband of 45 years says I wasn't the same person. My thinking is clearer now that I quit taking it and I don't stutter anymore. I was taking 50 mg. twice a day for three years. It also caused cataracts. Each eye hemorrhaged one month after each surgery. I've had my eyes lasered many times, as recently as last month. My vision was blurry and moving. It's much better now. I'm trying to get the word out to physicians not to prescribe Lyrica anymore. They don't know the problems that it has caused! The cost of my braces is $7,000.00.

Thanks, Nick. I've been looking for MONTHS for an attorney. Some law offices say, "We are not taking it at this time." Like...maybe they are waiting for enough people to justify taking the case, I hope. Two attorneys have told me about the statute of limitations, with no further detail. Let us know if you find anyone. I did find an attorney in Texas that is handling suicide cases from Lyrica. All my leads have gone to a dead end. I recently had three teeth pulled and I'm in braces, my teeth were getting VERY crooked, at age 64. It's no fun at this age. I believe it's related to Lyrica, since people said their teeth have rotted out and they had to get full dentures. I took Lyrica for three years for fibromyalgia. Had all the side effects people have stated. I was so glad when I found this site. I stopped taking it on my own two years ago. Life is much better. Best wishes to you.

Janet as far as i know there are no statute of limitations especially if no one will take on the case at the moment , there are ways around it .

There is a statute of limitations. If we don't find someone SOON, we may never get help!! Time is NOT on our side. Does anyone know what the statute of limitations is in a case like this?

Hi Mary , you may be right but Lyrica causes on going permanent problems , we may still have an opening some where down the line for deserved justice .

There may be a time when they will pull it, but that will be years down the line. Back in the '80s there was a drug that was on the market for several years like Lyrica. It was called Zomax. They gave it to women as a post partum ( after giving birth) pain reliever , and it worked great. Then after the pain was gone, the doctors discontinued the prescription. Later on, like several months later, if these women came in with menstral pain they would prescribe Zomax. Well, one month after my oldest was 6 months old, I had terrible menstral pain and my GYN doctor prescribed Zomax. I hot the prescription filled. I took one pill and within 15 minutes I could feel my tongue swelling and my throat starting to close up. Luckily I was a nurse and I knew what was happening. I was going into anaphylactic shock. I was allergic to a medicine I had taken when my son was born. A neighbor was home and my family physician was 2 blocks away. I called him and he said to come right down. I yelled for my neighbor to come over to watch my son @ the same time as I got into my car to go to my doctor. I got there just in time. He gave me epinephrine and some other drugs. He kept me in one of his rooms in the back of his office and had his nurse look in on me every few minutes. I stayed there for 4 hours until he felt it was alright to send me home. He told me to get rid of the medication and he put me on some other pain medicine that had been around for ages ( they have since pulled that drug off the market about 2 years ago because some people had heart problems) About 4-5 years later they took Zomax off the market because too many women died of anaphylactic shock. The pharmaceutical company never got sued and they made lots of money on Zomax. Lyrica, which is @ least 10 times worse then Darvocet and 20 times worse than Lyrica got pulled. They will wait til they have made their money and Lyrica will quietly slip into the shadows and be pulled and no one will get anything. So, just say goodbye to your memory and bite the bullet because there will be no law suits. S.
