I am prescribed 30 mg Adderall 4 times a day and my Dr. keeps testing me! Is she looking for levels? And what should my levels be? ## Most doctors will do drug testing to make sure that you are taking the medication as prescribed and not selling it, or abusing it by taking more than prescribed. I recently had sinus congestion. I took OTC Mucinex. When I took my urine test it showed up POSITIVE for amphetamines. Is this possible? ## I've done a lot of things but I have never ever ever taken amphetamines. That said, my doctor gave me a urine test that I take every three months because I'm on narcotics for the military and it comes up positive for amphetamines. All I can think of is she gave me hydroxyzine HCL.

I supposedly failed a urine test for amphetamines and marijuana. I failed them when I just got out of the hospital. My prescription drugs are flowmax, methadone, vicodin, meloxicam, amlodipine, and somas. Please let me know which one of my prescriptions caused me to fail?

If x mg of adderall xr is taken daily, what will come up in the urin if levels are tested? ## Joli, there are metabolites of medications that only appear in the blood or urine, if it has actually been processed through the body, so if the test also looks for those, then there would be a problem. Jitter, there are many other factors that come into play, so I can't answer that question just from the dosage. I take a drug test each month. I have not used any drugs, yet came up positive for amphetamines. I was sick around the time and took mucinex and sudafed. I am also on a few presciption medications, nexium, trazadone, cholonodine and bupropion (wellbutrin). Could someone tell me which drug or combinations would have made the positive test? I also just tested positive with the oral swab for amphetamines after a minor fall at work. I am still waiting for the urine result because of course it happened on a weekend and they haven't analyzed it yet. My job hangs in the balance I take no prescription meds only an asthma inhalor. I am in the hospital currently for lung probs. The problem is I came up positive for methamphetamine. I take a multitude of meds..i have heard ranitidine (zantac) can cause you to fail a urine analysis. Is this true? Please help me with any information whatsoever. If i take 15 mg of Ephedra (green Stinger) in the the am will i test positive for methamphetamines in my urine in afternoon ## Hi roxy, Ephedra is known for causing false positives for Amphetamines as well as Ecstasy, so I would just be cautious of that if you do have to go in for a drug test soon after taking it. I am on probation and possibly facing 10 days in jail for a urine analysis showing faint line on methamphetamine and amphetamines. Information I gathered states that Vyvanse is a prodrug for the chemical dextroamphetamine. Dextroamphetamine will cause a positive test for amphetamines, and in some drug tests methamphetamine.
