I've been experiencing very painful burning for weeks. I've been prescribed this medication twice now each for 7 days. The first time was 2 mths ago. I had relief for a few days & then it came right back! I'm on my 4 day out of a 7 day script & still in pain. How long before this medication brings some relief? It doesn't have the milligrams on the bottle. Could this burning be from something else? ## I'm sorry, Katherine, what medication have you been prescribed? You forgot to mention it. I would like to know if Zoxan 500 is used to treat blood infection. If so, for what level of infgection it is used. Mild, average or serious? ## Ciprofloxacin is reported to be the active ingredient in Zoxan. Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a number of infections including: infections of bones and joints, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, malignant otitis externa, respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, anthrax, chancroid, among others. The term "among others" is very vague, so I think it best to contact your doctor to confirm its use for blood infection.
