why can't this medicine be found today. It was the only thing that would stop my mom from coughing. She is 86 years old and coughs so violently that I am afraid it is going to kill her. Her Dr. has tried many things but to no avail nothing has worked. Her Dr. says that this medicine has been discontinued. So why isn't something there to take it's place? Your doctor is either searching with the wrong info or he or she just doesnt want to prescribe it. As of April 1 2011 it is still available as ...

how many mg of hydrocodone are in each teaspoon of Tussionex ext-rel sus medeva? Tussionex contains Chlorpheniramine and Hydrocodone. Is your dosage listed on the packaging? From the information I am finding, the regular, adult formulation contains 8mgs of Chlorpheniramine and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, per teaspoon. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic, so you may experience side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. http://www.prescriptiondrug-info.com/drug_details.a ...

Does this have what is needed to assist with pluracy? Tussionex contains Chlorpheniramine, commonly used to treat allergies and Hydrocodone, a narcotic, commonly used in this manner to reliever coughing. That said, NO, Pleurisy is fluid around the lungs, neither one of these will treat that. is this what your doctor prescribed for you? http://www.prescriptiondrug-info.com/drug_details.asp?title=Tussionex&page=1002748&ad=true ...

Is this good for what kind of pain? From what I was able to gather, I believe Tussionex Ext Rel Sus Medeva has the active ingredients Chlorpheniramine and Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone or dihydrocodeinone is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from two of the naturally occurring opiates, codeine and thebaine. Hydrocodone is an orally active narcotic analgesic (pain reliever) and antitussive (cough suppressant). To learn more click on the link below... http://www.prescriptiondrug-info.com/drug_detail ...

Tussionex Ext Rel Sus Side Effects Filed in Tussionex
If med has expired, does that mean it's ineffective? Or stronger? Mine expired 10/09. Thank you. Hi Teri, Certain drugs are actually okay to take after expiration, whereas others such as antibiotics can become toxic. Tussionex contains a combination of Chlorpheniramine + Hydrocodone. My personal assumption is that it lost a good percentage of its potency by now, having been over 2 years old. It may still be effective, but not nearly as potent. It's also impossible to give a direct an ...

I have cough variant asthma and must take tussionex. I was happy about the generic until I tried it. The suspension is not right. A lot of it winds up dried in useless chunks on the side of the bottle. Also, of secondary concern, it tastes and smells bad. I took my prescription to be filled and they only have half. When I picked up the second half, I was greeted by the bad smell when I opened it (at home, days later). I think this second half is the generic mixed with some reall tussionex. It's ...

I have used Tussionex Pennkineticsusp for years and never had any problems. Recently I got the generic version, took it once, felt dizzy and nauseated och light headed all day. Will now go back to the regular verson. I always thought that generic should be the same, but it is not. Taste different too. The taste is really irrelevant, that just depends on what flavoring agents the manufacturer uses and it has no bearing on the efficacy of the medication. However, no generics don't have to be 1 ...
