Are you on any other medications? ## good day, i have been using Prexum 5 on and off but my BP is not improving, i tried going for herbal mixtures but its not worse at 159/113. when i take prexum my libido is low but the BP is still high. i also have high uric acid and gout which i take puricose 300 for but still i dont see improvement in my BP.please help

Please be frank and tell me whether the coveram 5/5 drug affects the libido or not? ## Yes, libido issues can be a normal side effect of most blood pressure, and cardiac medications, according to the NIH, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. My boyfriend is on Effexor XR. We have been dating for 10 months and we've been dealing with his very, very low libido. I am very patient with him, but I can see myself eventually running out of patience. We actually haven't been intimate since Mid-July. So at this point it's been 5-months since he's had ANY interest in me. I have been self-reliant, but I am starting to have trouble myself, because I am tired of doing it myself. Ive read a lot of men are having trouble with there libido or ED on this med I am currently on 10 mg twice a day last month & I find the opposite to be true. Because of other meds ( High BP Cholesterol Bypass surgery ) and Wellbutrin being in my late 50's My libido was gone for about 2 years ago I started with Testosterone shots monthly then daily underarm which helped because my numbers were very low but didnt quite make it all the way spotty but better. Now after taking Adderall its constant and back to above normal like I was 40 again. And its working as far as my ADHD as well fantastic . What medication have you switched to? Most blood pressure and cardiac medications can cause loss of libido, as reported by the FDA, so it's really just a matter of trial an error to find one that works for you, without causing unwanted side effects. They may also cause nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Your age may also be having an effect on your libido. Are you post menopausal?

I have currently been taking sprintec for about 4 months now, and within the last 2 months I have had no libido at all. It has caused huge issues between my boyfriend, and I have mood swings all the time. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to help fix it? I have been on a bunch of different kinds of pills for birth control (I loved them), and I also was on the DEPO shot (I loved it but i gained over 50 lbs.). ## It really sounds like the estrogen in them doesn't agree with your body, you may naturally have a higher amount, so adding that in the pills is just pushing it too far. Have you considered trying the Mirena IUD? It only uses a form of Progesterone, rather than estrogens.

I'm a 40 year old male and have been taking Lunesta for about 2 years now. Over that time I have have slowly lost my libido until now when I don't have any. Anyone else experience this? I have been taking Nexto Forte for 3 months prescribed by my doctor to help treat my anxiety. I am 23 years old and I have been experiencing erectile dysfunction. Could Nexito be causing this and is it possible that it is permanent? ## I don't think so it will remain permanent. I'm 43 year old Australian with borderline low testosterone levels who's been suffering from 'feeling like an old man' for the past 2 years. I've just started using Axiron in the last week (2 pumps a day) and already I feel a lift in energy levels and libido. The only downside is the occasional hot flush and difficulty getting to sleep. I have just been diagnosed with narcolepsy and have been taking Nuvigil for five days and now all I can think about is intercourse, all day, all night. I have tried taking care of myself but still never feel satiated. This is very unusual for me, I am usually way too tired to bother with intercourse with my husband but he is all I think about now. I have severe back pain and I'm on 50mg of tramadol 4 times a day. Ever since I started to take these my libido has been increased drastically. Has anyone else noticed the same? ## Hello, Amber! How are you? I've not heard it mentioned, but it does make sense, in a way. All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, for instance along with being habit forming, the FDA lists those for Tramadol as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Usually, it lowers most people's libido, but conversely there are always a few people who actually experience the opposite of any side effect, they may get diarrhea, very water mouth and an accelerated libido. I went to the hospital. Doctors gave me medicine specifically to decrease my libido. I don't know the name of it but I know that's what the drug was for. Months later I barely have any urges. It's creepy because I've always been ready to go. When will my libido go back up? I would hate to meet someone I really like but cannot please them.

My Gabapentin intake was increased to 2500mg a day and since then it has increased my libido dramatically. I was just wondering if there is anyone else who has had this side effect? It's not a bad side effect but I was just wondering. ## Some medications do that to some people, in some others it may cause the opposite effect. Have you experienced any other issues from taking this higher dose? ## I just got prescribed Gabapentin, 900 mg/day and this is day 5 and I'm still feeling loopy. If you don't mind me asking, why are you on such a high dose? I'm on it for a few nerve damage issues, but have noticed my mood is a bit more upbeat.

Hi, this is my second time trying Effexor. I was on it for several years a while ago, but went off as I got to the highest dose and it still stopped working after a while. Since then I've tried several other drugs to very little improvement, as well as ECT and rTMS, neither worked. Of course I've tried counselling and CBT, and mindfulness as well, but my brain is not even in a place where I can begin to implement those things. So, I believe that the Effexor is beginning to possibly help. I haven't had a major low in a few days, I'm actually able to push myself a little to do some stuff. I even tidied up a bit! First time I've really been able to do that in 6 months. Major problem though... most of the side effects I'm getting are deal-with-able, dry mouth, etc. B...

I have been taking Pristiq for about 3 years now due Anxiety attacks. After taking the drug for afew days I had the worst anxiety i'd ever had, i had horrible nightmares, nausea and bad headaches these symptoms completely disapeared by about a month after starting it. After the first month life was great I was back to my normal self, I could eat food again (which was the main reason for my anxiety attacks). For about 2 years it worked great for me with minimal side effects mainly brain ticks if i took the pristiq too late in the day, If i completely forgot the tablet I would be bed ridden the entire next day with terrible brain ticks, headaches and nausea, although 99 percent of the time I felt fine. I started on bupropion xl 150 mg, taking it to help with my libido ( 50+ years old going through menopause) and weight loss. Libido was great and lost a few pounds first week then nothing. Dr increased to 300 mg... I have been taking for 4 weeks, no weight loss and no libido.... I know this med can take awhile to work... any thoughts, will it begin to work soon? Anyone experience same thing? ## That's rather odd, while the FDA does list it as not being known to decrease libido, it is also not known to increase it in most people that take it. It is also not usually used, by itself to aid in weight loss, it is usually accompanied with Naltrexone.
