I have been taking isorb mono 30mg for approx 8 days. The biggest side effect is headaches. My question is: What is the result supposed to be to the patient for taking this rx? Based on my research, Isosorbide mononitrate is used in the treatment of heart failure, angina pectoris prophylaxis (chest pain), and esophageal spasm. My wife has been taking "isosorb mono er 30mg tab wes" for a couple years. The pharmacy changed the tab to "Isosorb Mono Er 30mg Tab tor". The tablets have a different appearance. Picked up my prescription today and the look is different. Have been getting Isosorbide mono a oblong pink tablet. Today I got a small white oval tablet. Called pharmacy and didn't get a satisfactory answer..Is this white tablet same as pink one. What are the markings on the tablet in question? Does this pill contain FD&C yellow 5 or blue 1 dye? These dyes cause me to itch. They are a by-product of coal tar which I'm allergic to. Well, Isosorbide Mononitrate is a generic, so it is manufactured by several different companies and they don't all have to use the same inactive ingredients. My Dr. put me on 30mg of isosorb mono er after a heart cath for angina. I developed a headache every day and my angina got worse each day. By the third day the angina was worse than before the cath.
