I take Ergotamine for headaches. I get my meds thru Medco. My insurance pays most of the cost for generics. Last time Medco said they didn't have Ergotamine in stock (first time that has ever happened over the years.) They said they would need to send me Cafergot, the brand name. It costs me 10 times more. I need to know why I can not get Ergotamine.?? ## Same problem with caffergot or its generic ergotan/caff. Wally World used to charge $5 for a generic. Now they say they cannot get a generic. The real caffergot cost $300. ## Unfortunately, shortages sometimes happen, or a manufacture discontinues a medication, and while it is problematic, there's really nothing we can do about it. The typical side effects of this medication may include nausea, insomnia, dizziness, and dry mout...

Its sedative effects are relatively weak compared to other first-generation antihistamines. Chlorpheniramine is one of the most commonly-used antihistamines in small-animal veterinary practice as well. Mail order claims not but have filled twice at local pharmacy mfg by Cypress Ther. Is it true? ## Hi Joe, While I haven't found any specific details or announcements regarding the discontinuation of this supplement, it does appear to be available on sites like amazon… and even Clarks Nutrition & Natural Food Market here in California where I live. When I looked on amazon, it was actually being shipped by the manufacturer themselves (Cypress Pharmaceutical), so it's quite possible that they're still making them, and maybe just changed to different distributors somewhere down the line; allowing only a handful of companies to sell it. To get the real details behind the matter, you'd probably have to contact Cypress directly. Their customer service can be reached a...
