I have a white oblong pill that only has a big letter "I" with a big number "8" on it. ## A white oblong pill with "8 I" on one side and blank on the other, reportedly contains 800mgs of Ibuprofen. For verification, the manufacturer/labeler is listed as Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 55111-684. The other side of the pill has the capital letter (G) on the left side and divider line down the center and the number (6) on the right side. I found some white oblong pills in my sons room that say Ex on one side and nothing on the other. They look like Tylenol but a little bigger. All manufactured prescription tablets in the U.S. are required to have unique imprints to enable them to be identified, but that is not the case with over the counter products. Thus, these can be difficult to narrow down. I found a pill that is white, oblong with a triangle and 571 imprinted on one side and 500 on the other. I am suuming 500 is the mg. ## The pill in description is Metformin hydrochloride ER (500 mg); which is an oral anti-diabetic drug in the biguanide class. I believe it should actually be an A with a little p in it, standing for Advanced Pharmaceuticals. At any rate, that pill with 014 on it is Acetaminophen 500 mg, generic for Tylenol.
