Can i take amox clav for dogs to treat my tooth ache its hard to get to hospital. ## Hello, Travis! Sorry about the toothache. You're going to have to see a dentist. There are some medications that are made for canines, which aren't manufactured to human standards, so it may not be safe for you to take, additionally, if you don't have enough to finish a full course of treatment, it creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. And while an antibiotic can help with the infection, it will not fix the underlying cause of the infection, such as a deep dental cary, so it will just keep returning, until you see your dentist and have it corrected. Is there anything else I can help with?

my dog has been prescribed amox/clav as the vet says he has very bad teeth and looks infected, im worried about the side effects on him as he is a 14 and a half year old plus he has heart problem and all things about this product say keep away from animals, has anyone else given there dog this product, i just worry about him so much, ## Okay, the first issue is that for an elderly animal, with a heart problem, a dental infection is far, far more dangerous than any medications used to help clear it up. And when they direct you to keep it away from animals, they mean don't let them get ahold of it and eat the whole package, or let them get ahold of ones that aren't prescribed for them. Just like you would need to keep your medications out of reach of small children. This is a gene...

Hi, I am from bihar. My mouth has a lump inside that started 20 days ago and is growing. So I am going to a medical store and taking amoxi-clav 625 for 3 days but it has not had any effect on that lump. So i want to know about that. Pls reply fast. Thank you ## This is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. If the antibiotic is working, you shouldn't see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours and you should start to see improvement after taking it for a full 3 days. If you've not seen any improvement yet, or if it's getting worse, you should return to your doctor. Did they say what's caused the lump? ## I reall...

I took one dose, 1 1/2 hrs later, vomiting, diaherra, sweating alot. Ended up in ER with dehydration, and hypothermia, temp @ 93 degrees. I'm guessing the sweating gave my hypothermia, since it's mid summer. Doc tried saying it was probably stomach flu. I got sick taking this med before, just not to this extreme. Apparently if my temp dropped more, I could of been in real trouble. ## Sorry about what you've been through, that's very rough. And I have to say that I am really not surprised. Though it isn't common, some people do react this way to some antibiotics. I had it happen from one that I took last year, though the worst occurred after 9 and half days of dosing, so it took several weeks for everything to clear up…..and yes, I had gone to the ER and the doc...

Is amox-clav 875 still good if the used by date 6-18-14? ## Hello, LAS! How are you? Medications tend to degrade over time and become less effective, storage conditions can also play a role in that. When it comes to antibiotics, any lessening of efficacy creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, so it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and non-allergic skin rash. Is there anything else I can help with?

Answers Please ## Hello, Hawg! How are you? This is an antibiotic and the FDA lists its typical side effects, in canines, as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and drowsiness. Thus, it may actually be a combination of both, since this medication can cause dizziness. However, I am not well versed on the use of mediations in animals, so I advise you to consult your veterinarian to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed this 4 days ago for a horrible ear infection brought on by a sinus infection, and no relief. I am wondering if it's not bacterial and maybe should be prescribed something different to relieve the pressure and pain? ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic that is used to treat certain types of infections. However, it can take 5 to 7 days to reach its full effect and will not work as a pain reliever. And, as with any medication, it doesn't always work for everyone that tries it, so if your pain, or infection have not improved, you should contact your doctor. Are there any other questions or comments?

My Bulldog got bitten by another dog on his ear. I'm broke but I have amoxicillin 500mg. And amox TR-K CLV. HIS EAR IS INFECTED WHICH WOULD BE BEST ## Hi Gina, I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your bulldog. A bite on the ear sounds pretty gnarly! In my honest opinion it would probably be best to contact a vet and get their approval before giving any sort of medication to your dog. However I don't think it is uncommon to hear about dogs being prescribed amoxicillin. According to standard pet medication dosage charts, the usual dose of amoxicillin in dogs is reportedly 5 to 10mg per pound, taken every 12 to 24 hours. Your local vet should be able to verify this and other pertinent information (including how many days it should be taken for and which type of amoxicil...

I am taking this med and I have muscle pain and feel very drowsy is this a common side effect and does this med interact at all with tamixifin ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections. It can cause the drowsiness, but on the muscle pain, it's hard to say if that is due to the medication, the infection being treated, or something entirely unrelated. Have you consulted your doctor? And there are no interactions that I've found listed, between it and the Tamoxifen, but you should also check on that with your doctor, to be certain. ## Can I take Amox/K Clav 875-125 Tabs with Sudafed? ## What kind of infection is this medication good for? ## I have, what I think is a sinus infection...

May i take it for a UTI? It expired 2014. ## Unless a specific bacteria is detected that can be treated by this medication, it is not usually the preferred on to treat a UTI. The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
