can taking Allopurinol cause a diabetic to develope kidney problems? My father had a quadruple by-pass and kidney failure, should he continue taking allopurinol along with these medications:

Plendil And Your Kidney
I have taken Plendil for more than 15 years along with Accupril. I am having problems with my kidney and wondered if stopping Plendil would be a wise move.
