I take Lyrica for neuropathy.It helps me. When i eat, 15 to 20 min. after it kills the effect of the medicine. So I find out I have to take more than what is prescribed to get to feeling better. Lyrica can cause odd actions of a person, not being able to say words correctly, falling, and other strange behaviors. My h usband did take it, but the doctor stopped it so that we can see if it is the cause of the problems. Those are listed as some possible side effects that you should see your doc... I took Lyrica for about 6 weeks & noticed it caused incontinence or urine leakage. I stopped it & the sx subsided. I now restarted it as the pain was unbearable. I take 200 mg Lyrica twice a day for pain associated with Neurofibromatosis. Seems to help but my wife won't come near me. Says my breath is stinky. Not what a husband wants to hear. Does anyone know how long before Lyrica is out of your system once you quit taking it? thnx From what I understand the half life of Lyrica is approx 6 hours.
That means every 6 hours, the amount in your is reduced by half.
For example:
6 hours ... 1/2 gone
12 hours ... 3/4 gone
