Trazodone is a generic for Desyrel, this is an antidepressant.

Kelsea, NO, it will not cause you to fail a drug test, it contains no properties that would do so.

Michael, yes, it has sedative and hypnotic properties, so some doctors do prescribe to help with some cases of insomnia.

Other side effects can include: nausea, dry mouth and headache.
