when I take meripex I fall asleep fast but after 2 hours I wake up and can't go back to sleep for 2 or 3 hours. has anyone else had this problem. Also I have had Lap Ban surgery and in 4 months lost 44lbs then I started Meripex and haven't been able to loose any more because I have been composilly eating.can I just cold turkey stop taking the Medicine or do I have to go off slowly. Thanks

Same thing happened to me. I was only taking .5 mg. The Dr said I needed to take a higer dose. He told me to take 1mg. Maybe that is the problem. There is another drug they can switch to if this one upsets your tummy. Don't remember what it is. Good luck.

Weight gain is a very common side effect of this medication, so probably not a good idea if you have had lapband surgery to lose weight. I suggest talking to your doctor about this.
