of course your friend could overdose. But I would not worry as long as they aren't taking like 7 or 8 a day unless they are mixing it with much heavier drugs

YES, YOU NEED TO BE VERY VERY WORRIED. I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THE BATTLE OF ADDICTION TO SOMA FOR MANY YEARS. IT IS SO ADDICTIVE ALOT OF DOCS DO NOT USE AT ALL. IT IS INSANELY ADDICTIVE. I HAD 5 DUI'S ON SOMA AND COUNTLESS OVERDOSES AND HAVING MY STOMACH PUMPED. YOU DONT HAVE TO MIX IT TO DIE BUT IT DOES HELP

Yes Cindy is correct. The simple fact of the matter is that our bodies can become addicted to anything we use or take regularly for a prolonged period of time, anything from your morning coffee to that evening Tylenol before going to bed.

What you have to look at, is first of all, do they have a reason to be using it all the time? Do they have a pain or muscle condition that requires it and is it being prescribed by their doctor? If the answers are no, then they have a problem and should not be using it.

Secondly, how many do they use in a day? Do they use the amount prescribed by their doc? Or do they use more than they are supposed to and run out early each month?

If they do run out early, how do they act about it? Does the person just chill and say well I see my doc soon and I will be fine until then, or are they in a panic trying to obtain another few pills for their next fix?

There are all common things to watch for in drug seeking and addictive behavior.

soma can kill you. You do not need to mix with anything. 7 or 8 pills a day will not do it in a majority of the time. however a tolerence to the drug is easy to obtain.( yes it is a drug when not taken as directed)medication taken as directed. someone very close to we was taking 10 to 12 pills at a time, SEVERAL TIMES A DAY because she was told it is also a pain reliever. The pain relief comes naturally when spasm stop. any way this person was almost comatose most of the time until she ran out and then went to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist to give her some to hold her over till she got a new script. it usually worked.

if you know anyone in this bad, you need to do what i did. YOU THREATEN THE DOCTOR WITH MEDICAL MALPRACTICE IF THEY PRESCRIBE IT TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND YOU GOTO THE PHARMACIES THEY GO TO GET THE DRUG AND THREATEN THEM AS WELL THEN YOU STAY WITH THAT PERSON TO HELP THEM THRU THE WITHDRAWEL AND LET THEM KNOW YOU LOVE THEM AND YOU ARE THERE FOR THEM..

I SAVED HER LIFE. WE ARE STILL MARRIED AND SHE IS STILL CLEAN OF THAT DRUG. SHE STILL TAKES THEM BUT ONLY WHEN I GIVE THEM TO HER (AS DIRECTED BY THE DOCTOR

Soma - is addictive. I have been abusing them for 21/2 years. I started at 6 - 8 pills a day and end the end I was up to 120 - 180 everyday. This number is no joke. I received one DUI and had more than 20 overdoses where I was treated at the hospital. As a result of this drug use I lost my Job My House, Wife, Kids. Many people including addiction MD's told me that this drug does not form a true physical dependence but rather a mental one. But I can assure at the levels I was taking them I was both. One side note here. I am 6'1 275 pounds and I slowly built a tolerance to this drug. ,y life was saved many times by EMR teams that is the only reason I am alive today. Please don't try to shoot for this level of drug use as it will end in death.

Soma can certainly be psychologically addictive. I became additive to soma and other pain meds for 2 herniated disks in my back. When I tried to break the addition on my own, I suffered a grand mal seizure. I then went into a detox program and got of all the meds. I now am in recovery, have had no substances for 19 months. My pain is much better OFF the meds. My entire life has changed for the better. I am very thankful to be rid of all those pills!

Anyone with any history of addictive behaviour should never be prescribed or use Soma. While it is not considered a controlled substance, it does have a Central Nervious System depressant quality. Like all CNS depressants, if they are prescribed for any length of time, they patient needs to be medically monitored when they stop taking them. It is common for individuals who abuse Some, to suffer a seizer even as much as two weeks after last taking them. This is a serious situation! Please consult an addictionologist if you know anyone who is abusing Soma and intend to help them.

soma is highly addictive i was in a car accident 4 years ago and was put on codene and was fine i moved to another state and the dr put me on soma. i was never addicted to the codene but 1 soma is all it took it got so bad that i would constantly be passing out. my intake went from 6 to 8 a day to well over 16 per day. i somehow managed to finish school with honors. however i blackedout 3/14/09 while driving hit a car and hurt myself and totalled my car the others were fine. i spent 4 days in jail and admitted myself into a rehab. I had my pills on me and I was charged with possession of a narcotic as well as intent to sell because my dr would write my script for 3 months at a time.
please if you have a loved one on soma do something. my doctor wont even return my call and most importantly they dont know they have a problem. we lose all preception of time and how many we have taken i know i have been in one too many soma comas. if anyone needs any help please email me.
