I have been using Telma-H for my PP for the past one year. Previously I am not diabetic. But my Blood sugar post prandial comes around 180. Fast sugar also slowly increases from 100 to 110. Now I would like to know whether Use of Telma-H may increase blood sugar level?

Are Telma H and Telma AM the same medications? Can I substitute one with the other?

The active ingredient in Telma H is Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, it is used to help control high blood pressure.

Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and drowsiness.

Telma AM contains Telmisartan and Amlodipine, this is also used to control high blood pressure.

They are NOT, however, the same, so substituting one for the other is not advisable without your doctors approval.

Side effects may include: nausea, headache, dizziness and dry mouth.

You can read more about these here:

Are there any other questions?

Can I find Telma AM in U.S. pharmacy stores?

No, the combination of Telmisartan and Amlodipine is not available in the US, it has not been approved by the FDA.

Your doctor can prescribe them seperately, but that is the only way they are available there.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!
