My co-worker is currently on Topamax and is losing a lot of weight but I have some concers. Does anyone have input...please advise.

I can tell you that it is not FDA approved to be used as a weight loss drug. There are usually reasons they do not approve it for some specific use, so that would cause me to have concerns right there.

There are many options on the market that are approved as safe for weight loss.

This drug can also cause some bad side effects, such as tingling of the hands and feet, cognitive disfunction and permanent vision loss.

Well actually her doctor prescribed it for depression but she is losing weight and keeps telling me I need to take it and she also said her feet have tingled but I'm not certain about switching anti-depressants at this time.
