I have antiphospolipid syndrome (APS) I was given HCTZ for blood pressure and after two weeks my body went hatwire. This resulted in severe resperatory distress, intubated for 3 days had heart attack was kept alive w/ macinery & drugs. Later realized this triggered catastrophic antiphospolipid syndrome. After researching found that this is a known trigger- to late for me. Two years later I still don't have all the feeling back in my legs and have lung and kidney damage.

To avoid offending the original poster, I have removed the potentially insulting post.
People react to drugs in different ways, so it is possible to have such a reaction to a known trigger substance.
Side effects also vary from person to person, so just because one person experiences very few from taking this, that doesn't mean the next person will have the same experience. It depends on many factors, including your heatlh conditions, other medications you are taking and genetics.
