Common side effects while reducing dosage include chills, hypertension, anorexia, nausea, agitation, dizziness, somnolence, tremor, yawning, sweating. I would consult her prescribing physician, and ask them if she should gradually lower her dosage.
I am a 24 year old girl who *was reducing my effexor dose from 75 to 37.5. My doctor told me to take it VERY slow--perhaps 6 months. I tried to tapper once before in a shorter time frame, however the side effects were incredibly harsh--the worst was the dizziness and memory loss. Tappering slowly over months, I felt much less side effects however after 4 months of taking 37.5 I am really sad--crying easily, always exhausted. I really want to stop taking medicine but I can't function when I'm this low. Just yesterday, I started taking 75 again. I'm wondering if it is possible to reduce depression medicine without feeling so sad or if I need the medicine. WIll I alwasy need it? I feel addicted...
