The tightening of the laws governing the distribution of Pseudoephedrine, which was one of the active ingredients in Drixoral, caused them to reformulate the product in an effort to keep it available on store shelves and not hidden behind the pharmacy counter.
That said, it now contains Phenylephrine, which unfortunately has never been tested and proven to work as well as Pseudoephedrine.
There are other products that still contain Pseudoephedrine available, but you must ask for them at the pharmacy counter and, in most cases, sign a form to purchase them
There are also restrictions on the amounts you can purchase at one time.
Another Wichita Pharamcist, who was a long term Drixoral users herself, said to try Sudafed 12 hour plus a (I found Sunmark brand) 1.34 Clemastine Fumarate allergy tablet. So far, I'm not getting the same effect with the substitute.
folks its happened. Canada has finally realized they were gouging all buyers and the prices have come down dramtically. I got my order from Northwest Pharmacy. com yesterday, super fast ship, 40 tabs for $47.00 Now Canada pharmacy even has them cheaper. Just ordered 60 for $50. Hope this helps those in need. Bob
