I have been taking 10mg citalopram for 3 days, want to stop, bad headaches feel exhausted, swelling under my tongue, can i just stop or do I need to do this gradually?
If it's only been 3 days, you can stop, if you feel more comfortable doing it gradually break them in half and take a half for 2 more days. I have been tapering off 40 mgs of Paxil and I decided to just stop and got extremely sick. So now I'm taking 20's, then 10's... then I'll stop. 10 mg's of Citalopram for 3 days has not gotten all the way into your system. It takes 4-6 weeks for an antidepressant to start working fully and be in your system to the point where it is going to be affective. I suggest stopping or calling your doctor to stop. I did not like Citalopram either. In fact I have not found one anti-depressant that works, I feel that means I am not depressed. They all give me bad reactions such as yours.
I have been taking it 4 a month and i feel great,i thank god i found the correct medecine 4 me.i had all the side effects, but after 2 weeks they went away.dont stop taking it.
I went through a bad break up. I've been taking 10mg of citalopram for 9 days. I take it in the morinings and the depression and anxiety are worse until about 2:30-3:00pm then in the evenings I feel pretty good. My head is so hot I can't sleep and I am impotent as well occasional dizziness. Should I stop or what?
