Gina Says:
Has any women had a reaction to using Clindesse vaginal cream? I am having serious itching and burning after my one dose. Have really not had time to go back to the doctor due to work issues but I think I am going to have to.

YES! The same thing happened to me. I will never take this medicine again. It turned an annoying BV itch into a burning horrible itch. I finally had to douche this medicine out.

The itching is a normal side effect of this medication.

My doctor said that extreme itching and burning is not normal and indicates an allergic reaction. She explained that slight irritation is the common side effect that the manufacturer describes. Basically, if you itch worse than you did with BV- this medication is not for you. She put me on a regimen of icepacks and Benadryl until the swelling goes down.

Unfortunately, doctors are not always familiar with all of a medications side effects, even though they may prescribe it.

If you follow the link I posted and read the side effect information, you will see that itching is a normal side effect of this medication.

The severe burning, however, is not and could signify a reaction, a worsening of the infection or a totally different condition, so please speak to your doctor and follow their advice.
