I watched Dr. Phil today...there was a recovering opioid addict on with his wife. They mentioned that Seboxyn was used to help him with his withdrawal and recovery, and I wanted more info on it. Is Seboxyn used to treat withdrawal symptoms, or is it used for other reasons, too? The man said that at one point he kept needing more and more to get 'relief'', and I was confused about what the REAL purpose of this drug is. Is it like an antidepressant, where one takes it to balance the imbalance of the neurotransmitters in the body...or if you have diabetes and take insulin; you don't become addicted to these meds, but you MUST take them or you'll get sicker. Just what was Seboxyn manufactured to treat??? Thanks for answering! :)
Because of its powerful analgesic effects, Suboxone can also be used in the treatment of moderate to severe chronic pain. Additionally, some doctors use it as a treatment of clinical depression (although it is not officially indicated for that use).
