Shy Guy Says:
MY DR PRESCRIBED ME THE 2.5mg xanax and while in research for my college for a project on narcotics and the effect they have on the younger nation i found out that they are only 1mg is this something i should be worried about thank you in ahead of time shy guy
Are you sure your doctor didn't prescribe you .025mg? I don't believe xanax comes in 2.5mg. I believe xanax comes in .025mg, .05mg 1mg and 2mg. Extended xanax can be 1, 2 and 3mg However I am not a doctor so this is only my opinion...What I do feel comfortable telling you is call your doctor ASAP, because if I am right, the pharmacist may have given you the wrong dose,
I think , If you are starting out on Xanax, it should be a 0.25 Mg I thought a 2 Mg bar was the biggest they make. I could be wrong about that. Try to fill the script and the pharmacist should catch the error

Xanax is, first of all, not a narcotic, it is a Benzodiazepine and I am thinking the other posters are correct, it is probably for a 0.25mg tablet, since it is not made in a 2.5mg tablet.
