1	Roy Says: Report Abuse Thursday, 1/15/2009 4:27:25 PM The drugs most often used to treat routine, uncomplicated UTI's are trimethoprim (Trimpex), trimethoprim/sufamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra, Cotrim), amoxicillin (Amoxil, Trimox, Wymox), nitrofurantoin (Macrodantin, Furadantin), and ampicillin [1]. Although Clindamycin is not on the above list, it does not necessarily mean that it won't work. The thing with UTIs is that urine testing and/or medical history may be required to determine the specific bacteria causing the infection. Different meds for different bacetria. Hope this helps.
