Dwight Says: Trilipix I was on for 2 weeks and I broke out in hives from head to toe. My doc. told me it was the worst he has ever seen. My blood sugar was real high and my creatine and bun was high. This was the sickest I have ever been in my life. I'm 58 yrs old. He put me on prednisone I now have been on for 3 days. I'm now experiancing my arms and neck and hands hurt so bad I can't even turn my head or use my arms and hands. Has anyone else experianced this?

I haven't personally experienced this same thing, but I do have to say that it sounds more like an allergic reaction, rather than a side effect, which would also explain why he gave you the Prednisone.
A side effect is a condition caused by the drug that can be annoying, but tolerable, such as nausea, drowsiness or dizziness and they usually wear off as your body gets used to the medication.
An allergic reaction is more like what you experienced, they can be severe, in some cases life threatenting and require immediate withdrawal of the medication.
As to the aches you are experiencing right now, they could be from the Trilipix or they may be from a side effect of the Prednisone, either way they should wear off once you have finished the course of medication.
An update on my severe pain I had with my arms, shoulders, neck. I went to the emergency room at 4:00am Friday morning. They admitted me and gave me a double dose of a steroid drug, antiflamitory drug. I had inflamation that went away after a few hours. The pain I had the drs.seem to think it was from trilipix, but to be safe they also took me off lipitor and niaspan that I have been on for 3 years. They gave me cortisone shot in both shoulders. My doctor wants to start over with me so I go back to him in 1 month. I broke my back 10 yrs ago and this pain I had was worst than when I broke my back. It was the worst pain I have ever had. I still hurt some but nothing like I did. I'll see what happens.
