Hi Chuck, I've had a couple operations where they give me Demerol shots afterwards to relieve the pain. Although I've never heard of anyone being prescribed Demerol for use at home. I'm sure it is possible, but I have only been given Demerol by injection at the surgical facility.

nubain is as strong -probably stronger than demoral _meperdine (drug name) - and it's not anywhere online - now nubain's injectible - that's individual need whether their pain is strong enough and want instant relief - next to that is TEMGESIC, sublingual - melt under tongue. But don't take it with other opiates. Hope that helps. Just beware of your laws wherever you live even though whoever you order from knows them and does their part.

That is not necessarily entirely correct, some drug supplies DO NOT know the laws and DO NOT care to know them.

It is especially dangerous to try to obtain these without a prescription, self medicating is never a good idea.

Hi moderator. FYI, every site I personally have used POST the laws BY country, otherwise I don't even continue reading further. They also warn the customer to check their own laws as it's their resposibility - and it is if you think about it. We know in our country prescription meds need a prescriptioin but in my opinion, doctors are neglecting to treat people in need due to the select few that are 'drug seekers' without needs for them except recreational, while others suffer. I feel there are times we have TO DO what we have to do to FEEL better. Of course, that's my opinion. I just educate myself WELL and I know what is wrong with me, therefore I know what types of things MAY HELP - what may work for some, doesn't always work for others. In my defense, my doctor has had me on an inadequate antidepressant for over 2 years now and added another a year back - I am still in a deep depression and NOW I'm taking my LIFE into my own hands. I unfortunately do not have luck with doctors and some doctors JUST DO NOT LISTEN and are stuck in their ways. I'm not the only one who is HURTING out there cuz' if I was, so many people wouldn't be taking chances they take. It's much easier to cop street drugs for recreation otu on the streets, not online paying an arm and a leg for something we could get covered through our insurance if our doctors would listen to what is going on. Hope you understand more what I was posting and I DO NOT wish or intend on telling anyone What they should do - JUST what I chose to do attemping to get my life and quality of it BACK! It's got to get better or I'm close to losing my will to continue as it's hard enough getting up every day. I've gotten meds already that have helped but now need a working antidepressant and heard wonderful things from people on Lithium, a last resort now-a-days with the newer meds. BUT it it works, why try fixing it. Lithium has saved many lives and I hope it saves mine and I wish I could say my doctor as a professional with a degree NOTED long ago the medicines he has me on are USELESS! But he either has too many patients or doesn't give a darn. Some docs just do not write certain scripts period. It doesn't matter to them what success rate they have. Some doctors are great and those that have them are lucky - but if we all had them, we wouldn't be speaking out otherwise and looking online for help we can't get - selfmedicating is the same as taking vitamins. Of course, that's my opinion and we don't have to agree, but want to be heard. And I care about people in my shoes. IT sucks.

Demoral seems to be used in hospital settings more, you're right. But I do know meperdine aka demoral is also prescribed, but more commonly stadol as it's not as addicting due it's anti-antagonist properties (I'm not sure i'm using the right word) It's not one that's abused like demoral. Demoral is also an OLDER opiate while newer ones such as AVINZA like I take (extended release morphine) vs. Immediate reliease or oxycodone IR and oxycontin - you're going to hear the good and BAD about all pain meds. Fact is, people are in pain - these are the ones that work without killing your stomach (NSAIDS) or killing your liver -- believe it or not it's the tylenol and ibuprofen that danger your organs more so than the actual opiate. Try to get non-combination opiates especially if you're sensitve to NSAIDS and if you can't get demoral, from a patient who takes Avinza, it works very well and is time released so it's twice a day and that's it. AM/PM - not every 4 hours etc. It's expensive so you'll need insurance. IF you don't have it. go through Purdue Pharmaceuitcals who have FREE prescription programs - come right to your door - just call.

Kam, please don't misunderstand me, I too suffer chronic pain from a disablling and degenerative medical condition, so I have gone through all the same stuff that everyone else here has. Meds that don't work when you doctor is convinced they will, doctors afraid to prescribe what you need and etc.

As to our site, we are a U.S. site. We do not have information on prescription drugs or the laws for other countries. Neither do most of the other sites I have been to that offer similar services. Other countries have such shaky or ever changing laws that it is often hard to know what is relevant at that particular moment, plus there are not other countries that regulate prescription drugs like the US does, so their drug information is not as easily available to help people.

There are many free drug programs to provide assistance for those in need, as you mentioned in your post. One of the biggest is PPARX, it can easily be found by doing a google search. There are also several smaller ones that people can use, all you have to do is look for them. (I am posting this information for other people who might need it. )

Your problem with doctors who don't listen is unfortunately all too common today. Many are so afraid of losing their medical license or having to pay huge fines because someone in the DEA thinks they were over prescribing or prescribing meds to obvious abusers and dealers, so they undertreat the legit patients who need help.

As to the drugs, there are also extended release versions of Oxycodone, 12 hour dosings up to 80mgs and there is also a 24hour Morphine available, so a once daily dosing.

NSAIDS are far too over used.

Anyone in chronic pain who needs pain management should really be on a long acting opiate with a shorter acting one they can use 3 or 4 times a day for breakthrough pain.

My current regimen is MS Contin twice a day, I have two doses so I can adjust when my pain is really bad and I have Oxy IR for breakthrough pain. Due to recent problems that developed with arthritis in my spine causing severe headaches, we have added a muscle relaxant, Skelaxin, which is helping tremendously as well.

I don't think anyone with a chronic pain condition is ever going to be totally pain free, no matter what they take, but a responsible doctor such as the one I see, will get it to a tolerable level so you can function and participate in everyday life.

As to your antidepressants, they can only do so much, no matter how many or what type you take. Are you seeing a counselor or pysch for that? Most general practice doctors will only prescribe you the base meds and they expect you to see someone else for the rest of your problems to get help. They are not as well studied in mental health information as someone who has specialized in it.

By the way I do suffer depression myself and my husband has chronic depression and has been hospitalized for it, so I do know what you mean there, too.

My next suggestion is to say if your doctor is really not listening to you on this then you really need to switch doctors. Sometimes, as I have experienced, you can get a different attitude and treatment level even among doctors in the same medical practice. Some just have more common sense and are more practical than others.

But if you aren't getting the help you need there, then you really need to try to find someone else who will help you.
