Hpd Says:
I heard Paxil has been removed from the market. True? Anyone know why? Also, is there any side effects or reaction concerns with taking Paxil (Paroxetine) along with Serzone (Nefazodone)?, as both show side effects includin mood swings and hostility.

I had just started on it, thought it was working OK, went in for my first eval., and was switched to Lexapro. The nurse said Paxil was no longer being prescribed and was being pulled off the market. No one seemed to know why. H

I was perscribed paxil by my doctor to help with post partem depression and daily stress about 4 months ago. I honestly think that I should be on something different but I don't really know much about the drug game. If anyone has any personal experiences to share please do. I really feel that I should speak with someone who has taken the drug themselves.

I was taking it and thought it was working fine. I haven't heard any confirmation that it's been removed from the market. I'm also interested if anyone has taken it with Serzone (Nefazodone) and suffered any adverse effects? H

Paxil is still on the market.I just had my Prescription refilled. I still have the Orgasm problem, but I also suffer from Clinical depression-- Iwas just taken off Altace because my Blood Pressure was dangerously low.. Perhaps that was part of the problem. Also I`m older than most of you LOL (but I ain`t dead) :)

I used the paxil for about 2 years. It did help but I started gaining weight and had sex side effects. Contact me on what I now use. I would never go back. Did have to have help getting off the drug.

I'm sorry I started the whole off the market thing as it appears that Paxil's still out there and I got some bad information from a nurse. I thought it was working OK but I was only on it for about two months. Now I'm on some kind of Beta Blocker I can't remember the name of. I'm at work right now and will reply with the name when I get home. I gotta say, I'm happier with this new thing, as it doesn't seem to have any of the sexual side effects I had with the short run on Paxil.
One point of interest is the amount of advertising and news on Lexapro as if it's the second coming. I didn't have any possitive response from it and I'm wondering if the medical community didn't take me off Paxil and put me on Lexipro without actually having a good reason to? Just a word to the sceptics - I have no ongoing litigation or alterior motive one way or another. I actually like the Beta Blocker I'm on now more that Paxil. so ... for what it's worth - Hak

Paxil is still on the market, but GlaxoSmithKline has put a black box warning on the label because it has been associated with suicide. As a long time user, I can tell you this drug is bad news. If you want good information, do a google on paxil withdrawal. You'll be surprised at how much info is out there. And, no, I am not involved in any legal proceedings. But at two months into withdrawal -- tapering slowly -- I am a very sick woman. This is my third attempt to quit. The other two times I caved in because the withdrawal was soooooo painful.

I would like to help debbie not cave in and go back on the paxil. The products are natural and do nothing but nounirish the cell and the body can repair itself. Do you think you have a paxil deficiency? No you are lacking some nutrient. I know the pain debbie is in I was there not to long ago. There is hope out there

Debbie, I certainly hope you get off the stuff and back on track. I wasn't on it long enough to feel any effects of withdrawl. I started on a Beta-Blocker, can't remember the name, but I'll get it. It's been good and seems to work a lot better than the Paxil ... but then again that might just be wishful thinking. I have a close friend on Paxil and in my own uneducated opinion, it's made him impossible to be around. So, as far as I'm concerned, the word on Paxil is - it worked for me when I was on it for such a short time, but for him, he needs to be on something else. Debbie, feel free to E me anytime if you'd like. I too am in no litigation, just looking for wisdom. HPD

Kay, paroxetine is the generic name for Paxil, so yes...it is the same thing.

Sadly, Paxil (paroxeting HCL) is still on the market and there is no sign that it will be taken off the market any time soon. Time released Paxil, Paxil CR, was taken off of the market for a while, but is now available again.
