Is it still available? A small salmon colored pill that I took 50 years ago to build up melanin in the skin.It was called Meloxin.I took 2 pills 2 hours before going out in the sun.I used it on my first trip to Florida and it worked.I am red haired with fair skin, and I could stay out longer without getting sunburned. The army had tested it on soldiers in the desert, and I read about it and got a prescription for it and it really worked.

The only thing I can find listed under the name Meloxin is a medication that contains the active ingredient Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and, of course, is not what you are seeking.
Are you certain you are remembering the name correctly?
I am very pale, as well, and for me, I just buy a super strong sun screen. Due to modern concerns about sun exposure, you can get ones with SPFs of 50 and higher and just reapply them as needed.
Probably better for your skin then the tablets anyway, since the lotions will minimize sun exposure, with tablets, your skin is still exposed, especially if they let you stay out longer, so it suffers damage anyway.
