You don't say why doctor prescribed Lamictal. I'm on 100 mg for hemiplegic migraines. Left side is weak and right side is numb. Symptoms are not from the medication but rather the type of headache. You need to talk with your physician to see if there is another

I recently started Lamictal for Bi-polar. I'm up to 100mg(?). With Lexapro, and today started Vistaril too. I too have experienced that left hand /arm numbness feeling. Sometimes my feet get tingley up to below my knees at night when I'm lying in bed. I have alot of anxiety about taking medication but I feel like I should be brave and work through the adjustments, maybe then things will be more normal? easier?

I was prescribed Lamictol last year for pain suffered in my lower back due to a car accident. LAMICTOL IS EVIL in my book! I was comatose for the first 4 hours then psychotic for the second four hours. The doctor said it would take away my pain....it took away EVERYTHING BUT THE PAIN. Imagine not being able to move AND being in severe pain! Do not take this!

I can understand Lamictal being used for bi-polar but I don't understand at all why a doctor would prescribe it for pain. It is a (in the old venacular) an anti-seizure drug. Lois, be sure to talk to your doctor about your reactions. Gosh, no wonder you felt it was evil. I've been very lucky in the use of Lamictal as a preventative for the migraine. I'm up to 400mg a day and still have not had any of the side effects.

Lois! I think we are talking about two very different drugs with very similar spelling . The Lamictal packet warns about this. You are talking about LamictOl I'm taking LamictAl. I 'm still sorry you had a bad experience.

I've been taking lamictal for about a year now, 200mg. I stopped seeing my psychiatrist and had my family doctor continue writing the scrip. I've always experienced erratic behavior during PMS, but lately it seems worse. I'm feeling very anxious and paranoid. Any opinions? I know I need to go back to my psychiatrist, perhaps for a re-evaluation.
