Oh, I've been to those types of doctors before and I am very sorry to hear what you are going through.

The simple fact of the matter is that no matter how strong a medication is, they just don't all work for everyone. It would be wonderful if they did, but they don't.

Unfortunately, with all the medication abuse that goes on, some doctors are very reluctant to believe a patient in regards to their pain levels, they are severely afraid that you are just trying to get more drugs out of them.

The only thing I can suggest for you is the possibility of seeing a different doctor, if this one isn't listening to you.

Yes, Fentanyl, the generic for Duragesic is over 80times stronger than Morphine, but just like any other medication, it is not going to work for everyone to alleviate their pain.

The same goes with anything from antibiotics to OTC headache remedies. Tylenol works great for my dad, but only Advil will touch my headaches, it just depends on your body chemistry.

Some common side effects of Fentanyl may include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and somnolence.

You can read more about it here:

Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone is a generic for Lortab or Vicodin, this is also a narcotic pain reliever.

Common side effects for it may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Were there any other questions I could help you with?

I am on the fen patch and hydro's for M.S. and lower back pain from car wreck, They will not help with shingles pain as I found out in Febr. My pain doc had to put me on methadone for 3 months to take care of the shingle pain, ask your doc. to keep trying until you hit one that works.
Good luck,
