The doctor prescribed me Lortab and Soma in august of 08 due to an injury that i got n a car accident. or so we thought. the meds helped for a while but now they don't and i tried to explain i needed further test and wanted off the meds and he blew me off.I'm as of now looking for a new doctor who says attention to me and doesn't think a script is the heal all to everything. The Doc. at the ER has set me up with a neurologist to check for MS. Which I pray that It's not. My comment is for any and all that just go and are happy with a script. In the last 5 years I have been on one thing or another. Xanax, valium, cymbalta, lyrica, naproxen, ok, you get the idea. I don't sleep, i hurt, even with the meds, and the end result is addiction to something along the way. That's not fun! Nor pretty. It's as debilitating as the reason I started going. See, I'm also one of the uninsured Americans so many doctors think they help by writing a prescription. Yay for those that it does help but for some that it doesn't, it just really stinks. Now I have the pain, no sleep, and an addiction to meds the doctor gave me to help. Now, it seems the doc. doesn't want to listen to me as I beg for another solution. If there's anyway around any of you using these meds, think long and hard. ASK QUESTIONS. And don't stay on anything long term. I have and now that it doesn't help, i'm battling side effects, the need for more, that i fight, and new problems. Please do your homework. if it says addictive or can become dependent, see if there's any other option. I mean this. this is awful and i would not wish this on anyone. If you know It's your only answer, then I guess That is a decision you'll have to make and don't make it lightly.Good Luck

In the US this is a prescription ony drug, so obtaining it by other means is illegal, since it is a controlled substance, having even one pill, when it is not prescribed for you is also illegal.

This is a muscle relaxant that is used to treat muscle spasms, sprains, strains, and this can relieve the accompanying pain from such. It is completely non-narcotic, but out bodies can become dependent on anything we take regularly for a long period of time.

But in itself, it is NOT a pain reliever, mild or otherwise, it is a muscle relaxant and the only way it helps with pain is if your pain is caused by muscle damage or injury and it relaxes those muscles!
