Recent Posts About prednisone at The People's Medicine Community. my mom is on predinosone and is having severe anxiety and insomnia. She is a totally different person. The docs have lowered her dose and tell us she will improve 4-6 weeks after it is lowered. Anyone else go through this and did it get better after that time? I need advice

Sal: have your mothers blood sugar checked regularly while shes on the prednisone, it can cause rapid rise in blood sugar which she may require insulin, consult Her Dr. in regards to this.
I, too, had insomnia after taking the Prednisone. Anxiety has increased tenfold. My husband is a love and he takes good care of me. He understands and sometimes when I get carried away he just smiles and says, Prednisone and I know the medication is causing the problem. I hope that things get better for your mom. Just try to remind her in a nice way that the Prednisone is causing her feelings and that she really is OK. Being patient with her will help more than anything I think and if she is receptive to the idea that it's the medication that is causing her feelings perhaps that will help both of you. Good luck and God Bless.
