Recent Posts About Twisting Bowels & Lorazepam at The People's Medicine Community. I've had 5 abdominal surgeries (4 of them-scar tissue) since 2005. My surgeon suggested that it (the 1st surgery) could have been caused by taking Lorazepam for panic attacks. Any discussion will be helpful. Thank u

Upon withdrawal of Lorazepam, there are a number of side effects that can in my opinion, possibly lead to the need for surgery. A few to name are:
Stomach cramps, tremor, panic attacks, seizures, vomiting, and many more.
To view a detailed description of Lorazepam, and the full list of side effects, please follow the link below...
http://www.prescriptiondrug-info.com/drug_details.asp?title=Lorazepam&page=1001172&ad=true

I think if any of those were to happen on a consistent bases, there may be need of surgery to fix damage done in your body. I may be completely wrong in that aspect, but for discussion purposes, I feel it is a possibility and something to keep in mind.

Is there anything else that happened prior to taking Lorazepam that could have lead up to the surgery?

If you have any more questions or information to add, please post back so I can further assist you.
