My 73 yr old husband was just put on Lisinopril 5 mg daily in addition to the half-tablet of 25 mg HCTZ he's been taking. The pharmacy gave him 10 mg Lisinopril which he is to cut in half but it is not designed to cut. When I try to cut it with the best pill cutter I could find, many of them us crush or cut unevenly. What can I do? Check it out; true here but perhaps not with your pharmacy. <br>I split round tabs all the time. Not much problem. This drug also available as a lozenge. Easier to split. What I did was I contacted my doctor and asked him for a prescription for 5mg pills instead of the 10mg pills (so I would no longer have to cut them) He was happy to help and wrote a new prescription with no problem.
