Combizym ( Amylase Quantity)
Saturday, 11/21/2009 4:23:50 PM in Cortomycin Otic
Dear representative, I've been searching the market for a digestive enzyme for the longest time but Enzypride is the only one that comes close to suit my digestive needs. My body does not produce sufficient Lipase and Protease enzyme to digest respectively fatty food and protein whereas the amylase level in my body is high. As you know Enzypride is made of Amylase 11000 U, Lipase 12500 U and Protease 800 U, so is there a possibility that you can manufacture a batch with about 3000 U of amylase instead of 11000 U? The thing is I will be on this medication for the rest of my life so you can make the difference by being the only Pharmaceucal company to produce it and I'm sure there are other people suffering with the same kind of digestive disorder as this is the case for me. I'll be willing to pay three times the price of one. So the ball is in your hand make the right choice by saving the life of many. Thanks for your prompt reply. Well, I know what I'm talking about because I'm a nurse and a pharmacy student as well. Gary Philippe Phone# (954) 260 8987

Trouble From Accutane?
Saturday, 11/21/2009 12:31:32 PM in Accutane
My son (Age 17) took Accutane for about 17 weeks when he started going downhill mentally. Dermatologist would not continue treatment until we brought in a note from a psychiatrist saying he was okay. I chose not to continue with treatment. Son seemed to be okay. Anyway, he now has odd behavior going around the house saying schnit, schnit, schnit and no, no, no. He also sticks his chin out, makes and odd movement with his lips, and you can see the cords in his neck. He sometimes stops when he walks. This seemed to start after stopping the Accutane which was around 6 weeks ago. He has lost weight, isn't interested in eating anymore, and feels that he has something wrong with his stomach. He looked at me one time and it was so sad because he looked haunted. Has anyone had any experience like this? I was told by the nurse about the side effects that if I read the side effects of Tylenol I would never take another Tylenol again. (This was due to my concern when I read the pamphlet given to me when I was considering Accutane.) Oh, it appears the acne is coming back too.

My Battle With Focalin Addiction, Advice Needed!!!
Saturday, 11/21/2009 11:41:55 AM in Focalin
Mark, I appreciate your comments and am in your boat as well. It has been a difficult situation to discuss with anyone. This has been going on, off and on, with me since I started my undergrad in 2000. I have been able to stop for short periods at times because I force myself to do so. I have stopped taking it a few times for more than a month or so. But it's always been during a break between my education or something. Now I am graduating with my second Post-Grad degree. I know I have to focus on living a more regimented life now and that this behavior is not only unsustainable and costly, it can be deadly. I have gotten to the point at times where I stay up for long periods. This has even led me to desire alcohol and to smoke like a phen when I take it. I don't think other people around me have any idea of the problem. I am scared to talk to my Doc as well. I wondered if you had had other related habits that went with your Focalin addition? In any case, I guess we all just have to face the reality at some point and take steps to cure the problem. Honestly, that could even come with explaining that you need a few weeks off to deal with a family issue. I've done that before. Usually that was enough time to get myself off the med and back at some functional level. When I've done that, other stimilants suffice to keep you concentrated to some extent. In my experience, I begin to feel the effects of coffee again. I am going to be dealing with this in very short order because it is necessary to the wrest of my life success. Hopefully, once I'm in a more regimented professional environment, I will have a greater ability to accomplish a job that has my interest. I would suggest for you that you pledge to do the same. Take that time to deal with your disease. You don't need to necessarily explain it to your employer. Tell them that you will be needing a few weeks off in the near future because you need to take care of a loved one or something while their caretaker takes a trip. I know that's not an honest thing to do, but, in this situation, you don't need to go back to a professional office where people know you have been battling an addiction. Then, you just have to keep on keepen on with the regular modes of life. Your concentration and focus will improve with time and as you get back to a regular routine. In any case, I will likely do the same. Call the doctor and tell them you are moving, that you no longer want the medication. That way it will take a lot of effort to get a new prescript (and you won't have the concentration to do it, lol). I obviously am not the best advice giver on this topic. I know I can overcome this, though. You just have to know that and make it happen because your life depends on it, I guess. I will make my pledge to that. Anyway, I cannot tell you how much I appreciated reading your entry and realizing I am not alone.

Focalin Addiction!!
Saturday, 11/21/2009 11:29:48 AM in Focalin
My first semester in college was a disaster as I began at the age of 25 and only 3 months after leaving an all together different environment in the military where I served 4 tours in the Middle East. I never missed a class and yet my GPA at the end was a 1.75. I literally couldn’t absorb anything in class, fought off falling asleep more often than not, and couldn’t seem to apply my discipline to making myself sit and read. So, in the Fall of ’05 I began taking Focalin 10mg and the difference was night and day. Not only did I retain information from class, but I was able to sit down and read without losing focus, I actually enjoyed it, and my second semester GPA was a 3.63! Now it is the beginning of Fall 2008, I graduated in May, and have started an already successful career at a law firm. I know, what’s the problem right? Well, if you notice I’ve been on Focalin for 3 years now and to say I’m hooked on the drug would be an understatement. I’ve taken enough before to exhibit at least 3 of the listed signs of overdose such as, sweating, dizziness, jittery, etc… What’s worse is that my job requires me to sit at a desk all day…..ALL DAY and without Focalin that’s just not possible for me and I know that about myself, but I don’t just take it at work. I get urges to take it afterwards and have even stayed up for 3 and 4 days taking one pill after another every couple of hours and browsing the net, reading books, writing out goals, plans, what have you and I can’t seem to stop. Focalin used to make me so sociable and I’d love talking about a variety of things with different friends, people from my classes, and even strangers, but now I’m the opposite. I’m anti-social, and I’ll be as awake and as focused as you can imagine and yet I don’t want to do a thing. I won’t eat, but I’ll maybe write for a while, browse the net a bit, read some, but nothing sticks anymore like it used to. One task, one pill is a thing of the long gone past. If I stop using the drug my performance at work will drop considerably, making me the 1.75 GPA guy all over again, but if I keep on like this I fear my performance in life will drop drastically. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place and any advice will be greatly appreciated. I need to find a way to taper off the amount because the 10mg twice a day I’m prescribed doesn’t even touch the tolerance I have built for Focalin over the last 3 years. Help!!

Where To Buy Tolvaptan?
Saturday, 11/21/2009 9:33:50 AM in Tolvaptan
I have someone in India asking for this drug since his father is terminally ill from a kidney disease (I am in US). The doctor in a well known hospital there asked to find out if they can buy from somewhere since the alternatives are not working for the patient. He suggested to get from Japan, but they don't have anyone there to contact. Can someone suggest how I can buy this drug in US (I know it has been approved here now), and do I need to consult a doctor to get a prescription? Will he prescribe, even though the patient is in India? Also, can I just get prescription from India and buy online? If not use the prescription (and diagnosis and other documents) to contact a doctor here for more help. Please give some suggestions. Thanks.

Methadone No No No!!!!!
Friday, 11/20/2009 7:33:14 PM in Methadone
Methadone is the worst drug and most wicked drug in this entire world. They give it to people like me with pill problems and then you can never get off the stuff. I made the worst mistake of my life going into a Methadone program. The people at these palces pretend like they are there for you but they are not. They are there to keep you on this drug that rots away at your mind and body, and they do it well. They want your money. Do you know how cheap liquid methadone is? They milk off your addiction and act like they are doing something good for people like me. I HATE Methadone. I hate what it's doing to me and I HATE that I came in this place for a pill addiction four years ago, at 22, told I had one year and I would be weened off and here I am. I fight with these people all the time about this but they come up with a million excuses for why I should STILL be on this crap. It is going to kill me, just like the other pills, maybe just slower and more agonizing.

Hydrocodone-delayed Side Effects
Friday, 11/20/2009 6:59:51 PM in Hydrocodone
I have been taking hydrocodone APAP 5/325 for knee and joint pain(1-2 tabs. approximately 3-times weekly) for the past 6 months with limited side effects ( sweating). 2 days ago, I began to have severe dizziness, nausea, sweating approximately 1-2 hours after taking a dosage of 1-2 pills. I cannot find any difference in medications, habits, etc. that may be contributing to the sudden onset of the otherwise common side effects. Is it common for side effects to manifest themselves after no problems for 6 months?

Friday, 11/20/2009 4:32:36 PM in Levothroid
Started this drug 2 weeks ago and I feel like I am falling apart. Was taking it with an iron supplement as prescribed by my doctor. For the past week I've had soreness in the lower left abdominal region and at times, I feel a bit woozy Like a shakey feeling. It almost feels like I'm outside my self and it is very hard to explain. My mouth is very dry and I've developed acne on my chin and side of my mouth. I'm on a very small dosage, .05. What's going on with me?

Effexor Xr To Wellbutrin And Pristiq
Friday, 11/20/2009 4:21:39 PM in Effexor XR
Due to weight gain and dwindle effect, my doctor switched my anti-depressant from Effexor XR. He told me to stop the Effexor XR immediately and start the Wellbutrin XL. He said to take the Wellbutrin XL for one week then start the Pristiq. FOr those of you who have stopped Effexor you probably know what I'm going to say next. It started with dizziness, rhythmic pulsating in my head, nausea and generally feeling like a slug. It's like my brain had a severe case of the flu. It was horrible. Now, I'm having with the dizziness and throbbing in my head, what feels like a hot flash but my face gets flushed and very hot. I feel as though I want to throw up. I called the doctor and stopped the Wellbutrin right away after about 3 days. I also called the pharmacist and he told me to try stopping the Wellbutrin and the side effects should be gone within 3-4 days. With that in mind i had a fear of bottoming out going cold turkey with no anti-depressant. Never the less, I stopped it all. The doc told me to start the Pristiq for a week then add the Wellbutrin XL. I know I'm rambling but that is part of the withdrawal symptoms, too. Has anyone out there stopped an anti-depressant and immediately started another? Also, has anyone had any luck switching from Effexor XR to Pristiq?

Anyone Else Trying Savella For Fibromyalgia?
Friday, 11/20/2009 6:27:07 AM in Savella
This is a new medication that just came out for fibromyalgia. I have several other conditions involving spinal degeneration , herniated discs, arthritus, etc. I've been taking this medication for a little over 2 weeks now and have worked up to the full dose. My biggest symptom seems to be upset stomach but I don't know if it's from the Savella or from de-toxing from 7 other medications that I've been on for over 10+ yrs. Is there anyone else out there that has started this medication that can give me any information that they may have on it?
