Sudden Withdrawal From Neurontin Saturday, 11/7/2009 11:36:19 AM in Neurontin I have been taking 600 mg of Neurontin 4x a day for about 2 years and recentlty ran out of this medication due to excrutiating slow service from mandatory mail order RX company.... I was extremely agitated during this time (approx. 5 days), nervous, stressed out, etc. Has anyone else had these symptons as a result of sudden withdrawal from Neurontin? I can't understand why this happened, I felt so scared and lousy for that time. Is this a known reaction for this med? I haven't been able to find an answer. I take it for relief from carpel tunnel syndrom. Thanks 26 Replies

Anyone Else Trying Savella For Fibromyalgia? Friday, 11/6/2009 9:49:09 PM in Savella This is a new medication that just came out for fibromyalgia. I have several other conditions involving spinal degeneration , herniated discs, arthritus, etc. I've been taking this medication for a little over 2 weeks now and have worked up to the full dose. My biggest symptom seems to be upset stomach but I don't know if it's from the Savella or from de-toxing from 7 other medications that I've been on for over 10+ yrs. Is there anyone else out there that has started this medication that can give me any information that they may have on it? 36 Replies

Vision Changes From Taking Boniva Friday, 11/6/2009 8:05:18 PM in Boniva I took once monthly Boniva for the first time and now I am having trouble reading. I can't read type that I was able to just days before. It started from the first day I took it. My doctor said to go to eye doctor and she is taking me off of it. Anybody else had this affect their eyesight? I also definately had frequent urination the first 2 nights. 2 Replies

Synalgos Dc Friday, 11/6/2009 3:17:14 PM in Synalgos-DC We are trying to find Synalgos, which my wife has taken for over 30 years for migraine management. A few years ago it went off the market and returning 4 years later under a different manuf. We have just been notified that it will once again become unavailable (Sept 2009). Why is it that this happens? and what if any options do we have. We ahve tried numerous other meds but nothing works like synalgos, which causes her little if any side effects. 19 Replies
Methodone Withdrawal Friday, 11/6/2009 11:00:12 AM in Methadone I was at 90 mg of meth and goin to clinic everyday and sweating/hiding it from family/friends for two years. My advice, get some benzos legally to help with the withdrwl. Mixing them can be dangerous:so don't! Go cold turkey IT DOES NOT LAST LONG. Trust me 3 days physically; sweating,leg cramps, etc but I PROMISE after day 3 or 4 it is all MENTAL! These clinics sell a product, its a business to them;::: SUBOXONE is just a transfer of addiction. Attend AA meeting I do. Cold turkey feels like ur goin to go but i PROMISE its all MENTAL. Get someone to support u.won't die! Its not alcohol or beno withdrawal. JUST TRUST ME.not saying its fun but it it DOABLE... I'm 23 days cold turkey and I count every one! 21 Replies
Naproxen Friday, 11/6/2009 10:25:53 AM in Naproxen I took a 500mg Naproxen yesterday, it took it a second to kick in. I was having a real bad headache and a friend gave me one. When I got to work I started feeling really relaxed and dizzy. It was like my body felt like puddy or I had no bones in my body. Is it suppose to make me feel this way? True enough the headache was gone and I felt like a totally different person but I didn't like the side affects it caused. 4 Replies
Lyrica Friday, 11/6/2009 7:46:18 AM in Lyrica I have herniated discs and sciatica. I was referred to a pain management doctor, who prescribed Lyrica. After reading all of these posts, and finding out the side effects, I'm not sure I want to take this medicine. Has anyone had good results with Lyrica, without these side effects? 2 Replies

Lumbar Stenosis At L4.l5 And Disc Prolapse Thursday, 11/5/2009 8:28:32 PM in Lyrica My wife aged 75 yrs.,started with cytica pain starting with shooting pain from buttacks down to the legs about two and half years back.She was given first Steroid injection in Feb 2005,withe some relief in the pain for for 6 months.But the MRI sowed Lumber Stenosis of cytica nerve at L4-L5 & herniation of vertebras.She was given Gabaneouron. Tabs.thrice daily and Shelcol(Calciam tabs.0 & Vitamin-E tablets for about six months .She was referred to Pain Clinic again& was given 2nd Steroid injection.and & there was relief in the pain but was able towalk for 2-300 metre and had to sit.The third Steroid injection was given after another 6-8 months.Medicines were the same combination as shown above.Now Ihave changed a new Spine/Neurosurgeon and he has been givin her Lyrica 75mg in the morning &Lyrica 150mg(Pragaqbalin) in place of gabaneuron &other medicines as above.She presently is restricted to home .She can do small domestic work for about half an hour,and has to sit down or lay on the bed.She has unstability while standing for if she stands or walks for more thn 50 mtrs.Doctor says she may Surgery but the age factor has to be considered,and perhaps may be given one more Steroid injection.Can any one advise me how can the Disc prolapse be set right without surgery and is there any other system of Medicine to help her to gain partial recovery in walking.. 7 Replies
Multaq Anyone Else Take It Thursday, 11/5/2009 6:52:03 PM in Multaq Okay I will start off by saying this drug scares me because it has not been out for very long. I have Afrial Fib which is not behaving I can be 70 beats one min and regular and the next I will be at 190 and in atrial fib and flutter. this is my last chance at a med I have tried all the others I usually end up in the ER two or three times a week. Levothyroxine Is Satan Thursday, 11/5/2009 10:39:36 AM in Levothyroxine I don't feel so confused anymore. Now I know all of you are going through the same thing. My doctor put me on 50mcg of Levothyroxine about a month ago and I have gain 8 pounds! I get short-breathed and winded REALLY easily when working out. I used to go to the gym for 2 hours, now I can't make it longer than 30 minutes. I wake up ALL the time with tingly fingers because my hands have fallen asleep. I have headaches, I feel 100 times more lazy than before...and it's supposed to help your energy, not drain it. I e-mailed my doctor today, this is not making me happy. Not to mention I now have an acne type rash that burns like hell on my chin and I've always had clear skin. If this drug is supposed to make you feel better it sure as sh*t isn't working for me. I feel like a fat lazy a$$ with an itchhy burning rash on my face... stay away from this drug, that's my suggestion. :( 8 Replies

I HAVE SEEN THIS IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS AS A NURSE MYSELF AND AS A PATIENT OF THIS HORRIBLE DRUG. BENZODIAZAPINES SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN INVENTED. I HAVE BEEN ON THIS MED FOR 3 YEARS NOW, AND CANNOT HANDLE THE WITHDRAWELL AFFECTS NO LONGER THEN ONE MONTH. I WISH THE DOCTER WOULD HAVE WARNED ME OF HOW DEPENDENT YOUR BRAIN AND CENTRAL NERVOUS SYTEM RELIES ON THIS MED ONLY AFTER EVEN 2 MONTHS OF TAKING THIS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY DOCTORS TO SLOWLY SHAVE THE PILL DOWN OVER A PERIOD OF A YEAR IF NEEDED, AND THEN I HAVE HAD SOME DOCTORS TELL ME THAT MAY NEVER BE ABLE TO GET OFF OF THIS DRUG EVER!! WITHDRAWEL SYMTOMS INCLUDE FOR MYSELF A FEELING OF ANXIETY AND PANIC CONSTANTLY, NEVER ENDING, SHAKING, HOT AND COLD, NO APPETITE, FREQUENT DIARHIA, VOMITING, NO SLEEP, NIGHTMARES IF I AM LUCKY TO GET ANY SLEEP. WEAK MUCLES, MUCLE PAIN, EYE SENSITIVITY TO BRIGHT LIGHTS, HALLUCINATIONS SINCE THE DRUG CONTROLLS THE GABA RECEPTORS IN YOUR BRAIN, THUS AFFECTING YOUR EYE FUNCTIONING AS WELL. WORSE OF ALL IS THE CONSTANT FEAR AND PANIC, DAY AFTER DAY, WEEK AFTER WEEK, NEVER ENDING. I WOULD LIKE TO KILL THE DOCTORS THAT INVENTED THIS CRAP AND THE ONE WHOM SO CASUALLY PRESCRIBED THIS TO ME, OR BETTER YET, PUT THEM ON THIS DRUG FOR 3 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR AND CUT THEM OFF COLD TURKEY AT SAY 3MG. Fentanyl Withdrawal Symptoms Thursday, 11/5/2009 7:44:10 AM in Fentanyl I'm trying to wean myself off the Fentanyl patch. I went from 75 micro-gms to 50 now I'm on 25. Having a problem and not sure it is related to the decrease in the med. It's been 20 days on the 25 micro-gm and I'm going crazy. Splitting Pills To Attain Proper Dosage Thursday, 11/5/2009 2:24:24 AM in Lisinopril My 73 yr old husband was just put on Lisinopril 5 mg daily in addition to the half-tablet of 25 mg HCTZ he's been taking. The pharmacy gave him 10 mg Lisinopril which he is to cut in half but it is not designed to cut. When I try to cut it with the best pill cutter I could find, many of them us crush or cut unevenly. What can I do? I end up with a handful of crumbs that are not usable. 5 Replies
