Xanax - 3 Tablets Over Time Medication usually do not work on me - not even morphine when I was in pain at the hospital. Sleeping pills do not affect me. However xanax worked a little but that was a relief as I have insomnia. I took 3 last night or maybe the night before - I don't know. All I know is I work up at 7:00 p.m the next day or the next day. Long Term High Dose Xanax Effects I began taking Xanax in 1982. I have been abusing it more and more over the years. I can now take 14 mg and not even tell it. I can stop taking it with no withdrawals. It's like I am immume to it. for the past two years I have been experiencing a lack of cognition, forgetfullness and general fatigue. What Happens When You Withdrawl From Xanax My friend has been taking xanax for the past two months he's been taking the 2Mg bars he would eat about 10 bars a day because of his anxiety he stoped taking them for couple of weeks and now he is not remebering anything he has been passing out and saying he had a conversation with somebody and never even talked to that person. like we'll be sitting in a room and he will think the phone is ringing but it isnt. and he said he had a conversation with me one day and i never even talked to him that day. Trying To Wean Off I have had panic attacks for several years now. A few years ago my Dr. put me on .25 mg of Xanax as needed. I was fortunate, I only had to take one a couple times a month, if that. A little over a month ago, for whatever reason, I hit an all time low with anxiety. Constant worry over stupid things and anxiety to the point I couldn't even eat. My Dr put me on Lexapro 10 mg and advised me to take the Xanax 2 x day to get over this hump. After about two weeks I started feeling pretty good again and decided to start decreasing the Xanax due to fear of becoming addicted. I think I decreased too fast and had a relapse. I went from two a day to 1/2 2 x day in a few days. I called my Dr and he changed me from Lexapro to Celexa and told me not to worry about taking the Xanax as long as I felt I needed it. I've felt great for over a week now and have decided to try again. This time I cut back to 1 1/2 a day and will continue this for about 2 weeks. Then cut back a half again. Worried About My Mother My mother, 45 years old, was prescribed Xanax by her psychiatrist for anxiety and depression. However, she seem to have an adverse reaction to it. She will take one, forget she took it, and take another. This will continue until she has taken about 30, then she becomes very violent. A day or two later, she won't remember what hapened, and panics when she sees how much she took. She told her doctor that this happens, and he said he wouldn't prescribe them to her anymore, but when she feels panicky, she calls her DR. and he fills them without question. When she takes them the way they are prescribed, she does rather well. It seems to work for the anxiety, however, I was wondering if anyone knew if there was another medication that is similar to Xanax, that will give her the same results, but without the sensitivity. Xanax So, if I take approx 8-10 xanax a month, how long without any would it take to be out of my system. I dont feel dependent on them physically, sometimes mentally, i may think, wow, i havent had any, maybe i bettet take a 1/4 of one just to be on the safe side. Its crazy.
