Weight Gain On Pristiq??
I have been on Pristiq now since November of 2008...not quite 5 months...and I have put on 15 lbs since starting it. DESPITE working out with a trainer at the gym twice a week weight training, 3 days a week of cardio AND counting calories. My doc assured me that I would also have a decreased appetite on Pristiq, which I have yet to find true...so he has now increased my dosage to 400 mg. Does anyone have anything to add to this?? I'm just frustrated!

On Pristiq And Doing Well
I was severely depressed due to the loss of my husband in May. My doctor started me out on Zoloft but it did work well for me. Had tremors and felt sick. He switched me to PRistiq starting at 50 mg. I was better for awhile but the dosage was not high enough. I am now on 100 mg and doing much better. No bad side effects and I have lost a lot of weight (this started even before I started taking the Zoloft). My appetite has definitely decreased but I do not feel the need to eat more and food tastes fine. My husband dying and being depressed is a terrible way to trigger a weight loss but I am at a much healthier weight for my age and height.

Weight Gain
some people say they have lost weight others have gained even with exercise and others have no appetite? But still not one MD has explained the reason why if the drug has to do with the brain? This is the new drug of choice of many MDs now and there has to be a specific reason as it is not the cost? Almost every antidepressant has weight issues? Of course it is after the fact, when you mentally feel better and your now fat! So wrong...............

Weight Gain
I have had an insatiable hunger. I have gained weight and have had a lot of gas, and bloating. Went from Effexor XR to Pristiq, not sure if I made the right choice. Any one else had these problems?
