18 Years Old Addicted To Oc Need Advice I am currently 18 years old ive been doing oc for the past 6 months i did perks the 6 months before that i have a good job and have a great life going for me i wanna get off of it without rehab please someone give me advice i am curentely doing 40 mgs aday during the week and 80 a day on the weekends.. i mix it with cocaine atleast 4 times a week someone please help..i been getting very very deppresed lately and have thought numerous times about suicide Wednesday, 11/11/2009 8:36:41 PM 6 Replies
Oxycontin All Night Party My man used oxycontin fairly responsibly up until the last 8 months. Now, when he gets his prescription filled, he stays up all night doing God-knows-what. The next morning, I've found things in places that make no sense. He breaks and loses things. Often, he continues to carry on this way for a few days and nights. If he sits down, his eyes close and he fades away, but his arms and legs continue to constantly move and reach for nothing visible. He's gone on this way for up to a week at a time, then he'll finally crash into a sleep that lasts for days, waking only to take his oxy. He doesn't seem to remember most of this. Oxycotin Damaged My Teeth has anyone else known oxycotin to rot the teeth, i used to be on vicodin until my doctor told me i needed to swith to a morphine based meds she put me on ms contin but i had problems with it so she put me on 80mg oxcontin eventually my body built up a tolerance so she kept raising it, i have am now on from 4-6 per day of the 80mg tabs, it scares me that this is what rotted my teeth because only 5 yrs ago i had only 2 cavaties that needed filling and then only 1 yr after going on the oxycontin i had to have all my top front teeth pulled as they where rotting from the inside out the dentist said my mouth looked like a heroine addicts mouth looks he called it, he said it was shocking to him that normally he only saw such damage from someone who smoked crack or did heroine with so much dental damage, but i have never done any street drugs and have only take my prescription meds as prescribed to me, now i have lost 80% of my teeth and as a beautiful 41 yr old mother its devasting i cant afford dentures and sure cant afford implants like i would like to have. i am a single mother and i refuse to date because i have lost my teeth now, i had beautiful teeth before i started on the oxycontin and only 2 small cavaties that needed filling. can anyone help here does anyone else have this same problem and if so why hasnt the company making oxycontin warn patients of this possible problem, if i had known this would cause me to loose most of my teeth i would have never agreed to go on it, course my family doctor who has been prescribing them tells me she hasnt heard of any other cases yet when i researched the med online there where others like this why hasnt something been put in the warnings about this med, i sure would have prefered to have lived in pain the rest of my life rather than loose my teeth and be unable to even eat now, my health has gone downhill fast as i cant even chew foods necessary for good health all i can eat now are yogarts, and liquid type of foods which isnt much. my kids are 7 and 9yrs old and they watch me cry when we go out to eat and they order steak and i can smell it but cant order one as i know i wont be able to chew it, this is so devasting me i want teeth so badly if i could wish for anything in life besides not to be poor anymore it would be to have a full set of real teeth or implants but i could never dream of having them, and i dont know anyone out there willing to just help me get any either, i have always helped others all my life, but cant even help myself, i have had to have 29 surgeries now since 1991 when a drunk driver hit my car and caused me major injuries with my lower back and knees, i have had a full lower back fusion and 8 arthroscopic knee surgeries until a year ago they finally had to do a full right knee replacement and now they are talking about doing my left knee soon, so my life has been up and down with surgeries and i would go thru one more surgery just to have teeth implanted if i could. but i could never afford it, but i would like to know why these drug manufacturers are making a medication that could cause teeth to rot like this without warning us patients or even warning the doctors about it. this is just terrible of them i think, as now i am the one paying for this by having no teeth to eat with at such a young age now, i am a vivrant young 41 yr old at 5'3, 120lbs slim woman nice looking too as i was a model in my younger days so i keep my looks up, but to have no teeth now i never smile anymore, i am to ashamed to smile even though it wasnt my fault i lost my teeth i think they should pay for me to have new teeth but no one wants to admit that the med causes it, but my diet wasnt the problem back when i started the medication and i wasnt drinking coca-cola either or doing street drugs so i know that wasnt the cause either. the only thing that changed within one year to cause this was starting the oxycotin medication. well if anyone out there can help me let me know thanks. Financial Help I suffer from severe Fibromyalgia and my Humana Insurance does not cover Oxycontin. Is there help from the drug company so that I can afford this medicine. I have had to start on Oxycodone for the past week and it just does not help the severe pain on a constant level. The Oxycodone makes me sleep all the time and my quality of life is just about bottomed out this week. The Oxycodone does not help with the breakthrough pain. I have been on the Oxycontin over five (5) years with good results, but insurance premium went to $1125.00 per month and my husband only averages about $1500 a month. Help! Need Help... This is the first time in my life I have asked for help. That is probably why I'm asking on a website and not family or friends. I have been doing oxy for about a year or so and i want to stop. Im 21and want to get a hold of myself before it's too late. I only do about 1 80mg pill a day but it's an expensive habit and it's not worth it. I need it when I wake up or I just feel terrible. Who should I talk to I have a doctor but he is short with me I have only seen him twice and I want to pick a new one. My Prescription Was Stolen I recently had bi-lateral knee replacement revisions. (These last two made 9 surgeries). I have a prescription for OC/30. I take one tablet every 8 hours. I take 10 mg oxycodone as my break through meds. I sent a family member to pick up my Oxycontin 30's. There was 21 pills. She never brought them to me. I don't know how many she took or sold, but she is in rehab now. I want to call my dr and tell him I don't have my meds, but what will happen? Do I have to turn her in, even though she is in rehab? Will he give me another script? I feel like an idiot! Other family members warned me that she was using Methadone, and she had picked up scripts for me all along and never even unstapled the bag. Now what? I know I can't just go without, as that will so interfere with PT and the pain will be unbearable. What should I do? Any suggestions. Please be kind. Copay Increase For Oxycontin I faught the use of a narcotic drugs for the treatment of pain from bilateral knee and hip injuries until I just could not get relief from anything and the motrin gave me ulcers. I chose oxycontin because it was a low co pay and doc said it was very effective. Now after two years of living almost pain free I am forced to make a change because they quit making a generic for this drug. Oxycontin Does anyone have the problem of after about 10 years oxy dont really work anymore? Fed Goverment To Stop Oxy Alltogether. Has anyone heard that by the end of the next two months that no ins company will pay for oxy of anykind. The Gov is going to completly pull the drug alltogteher. I found this out today from my pain clinic. Just thought you would like to know. I broke my neck back and many other bones in a bad car accident, and my Doc told me since there are so many robberies murders and such from this drug and abuse they are going to completly quit making it.
