Lyrica Side Effects Results In Loss Of 13 Teeth I am the patient of a pain management physician because there is nothing else that can be done for my back other thantry to manage my pain. I have had 19 back surgeries, including rods, broken back and rods on right side. My last surgery was the insertion of two morphine pain pumps, which caused my body to reject the plastic or some component thereof. They also inserted two dual-lead dorsal column stimulators, and even though all four of these pumps worked successfully, my body also rejected come component in the stimulators as well. One of the largest problems, second only to the pain, was the fact that I had 5 deep wound that went all the way down to my rectus muscle in my stomach. I had a staph infection from the pump as well as the stimulator. It took 6 months of wound care from the pain pumo, and now I am left with the most hideous scar. Same problem with my back, Oh well....this was supposed to be about LYRICA! Since January 2005, my doctor placed me on Lyrica and I thank God for it, because it has helped a great deal with my pain, however, after having to make an appointment to see an oral surgeon to remove all my teeth because of the Lyrica, I am LIVID!! No one eluded to the fact that Lyrica cound cause my teeth to rot out of my head, when I had the most wonderful white straight teeth. I just celebrated my 46th birthday a little over a week ago and I am facing dentures right in the mouth! There out to be a disclaimer, of which there were one. I am a label reader, and read instructions implicitly. At any rate, that won't help the halth of my mouth at this point. Is there a class action law suit out there somewhere, that would at the very least pay for any dental work, or at least warn those in the future? BE WARNED! You deserve a right to be informed. Dementia My husband has been on lyrica almost two years. We thought it was wonderful as it let him live without pain.I did notice he couldn't find his words more and more frequently and his eye sight was getting worse but thought it all was due to age.Then about two weeks ago he became very confused and can't find things. The doc says he has altered mental status but not alzhiemers as it happened too fast. He has not had a stroke and has had many tests which showed him to be healthy. I am sure now that it is the lyrica.How long will the side effects last,does any body know. We see the doc tomorrow. I have cut back his dose but am afraid to stop it altogether till I see the doc. Does Anyone Taking Lyrica Have Memory Loss ? I have been on Lyrica for about 8 months now and I am having fantastic results. My dr is trying to increase my dosage and I have been doing it in 50 mg increments. I am up 100 more now in a month, for a total dosage of 400mg. I find that I have very bad recall and loss of my vocabulary during conversation. It eventually goes away, but I was wondering if anyone else has this? If it keeps up, I just may have to drop back down 50mg until I get used to it? Lumbar Stenosis At L4.l5 And Disc Prolapse My wife aged 75 yrs.,started with cytica pain starting with shooting pain from buttacks down to the legs about two and half years back.She was given first Steroid injection in Feb 2005,withe some relief in the pain for for 6 months.But the MRI sowed Lumber Stenosis of cytica nerve at L4-L5 & herniation of vertebras.She was given Gabaneouron. Tabs.thrice daily and Shelcol(Calciam tabs.0 & Vitamin-E tablets for about six months .She was referred to Pain Clinic again& was given 2nd Steroid injection.and & there was relief in the pain but was able towalk for 2-300 metre and had to sit.The third Steroid injection was given after another 6-8 months.Medicines were the same combination as shown above.Now Ihave changed a new Spine/Neurosurgeon and he has been givin her Lyrica 75mg in the morning &Lyrica 150mg(Pragaqbalin) in place of gabaneuron &other medicines as above.She presently is restricted to home .She can do small domestic work for about half an hour,and has to sit down or lay on the bed.She has unstability while standing for if she stands or walks for more thn 50 mtrs.Doctor says she may Surgery but the age factor has to be considered,and perhaps may be given one more Steroid injection.Can any one advise me how can the Disc prolapse be set right without surgery and is there any other system of Medicine to help her to gain partial recovery in walking.. Rash After Quitting Lyrica I took Lyrica (150mg daily) for 2 years. The medicine helped reduce my leg and hip gain greatly. In January I started working out daily and dieting and lost 30 pounds. I gradually have quit taking Lyrica and am having only a small amount of discomfort at times. The problem is that upon quitting the Lyrica the back of my knees started itching and welps appeared after I scratched them. It has been 3 weeks since I stopped taking Lyrica and I am still itchy. Lyrica And Liver Damage? I had some weight gain, like 10 to 15 pounds. What really bothers me, is after using this product I have been diagnosed with a Fatty Liver... Lyrica Side Effects LYRICA HAS RUINED MY LIFE. IT WASNT BAD ENOUGH WITH THE PAIN FROM MY BACK INJURY. I ONLY TOOK LYRICA 2 WEEKS. THE WEIGHT GAIN WAS BAD. I LOSS 1/3 OF MY HAIR IN 4 MONTHS. I HAVE HAD A RASH FOR OVER 1 YEAR NOW. I MEAN A BAD RASH. THIS WAS MY FIRST SIDE EFFECT. AND THEY WARN YOU OF THIS. GET OFF LYRICA ASAP IF YOU GET A RASH. I THOUGHT I WAS HAVING A STROKE THE FIRST WEEK ON LYRICA WHEN THEY RUSHED ME TO THE HOSPITAL. I HAD READ ON THE INTERNET OF HOW MANY YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM STROKES FROM TAKING LYRICA. MY VISION IS SO BAD NOW. I CAN BARELY DRIVE AT NIGHT TIME AND I HAVE TO WERE GLASSES TO SEE THE TV. THE WORST SIDE EFFECT IVE HAD AND STILL HAVE IS THE TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PAIN IN ALL MY JOINTS. MY KNEES ARE SO BAD AND MY HANDS AND FINGERS & JOINTS POUND AND THROB 24-7. THE SWELLING IN MY ARMS AND HANDS WAS SO BAD AT ONE TIME , I THOUGHT I WOULD LOOSE MY LIMBS DUE TO NON CIRCULATION. THE PAIN IS SO BAD IN KNEES, I CAN BARELY WALK EVERYDAY. I AM SELF EMPLOYED AND I TYPE AND WRITE ALL DAY. MY HANDS HURT SO BAD. I CAN BARELY HOLD ANYTHING IN THE MORNINGS TO PIN MY HAIR UP OR PUT ON MY MAKEUP. AS BAD AS MY PAIN WAS AND IS IN MY BACK AND CYATIC NERVE THE LYRICA DID HELP. IT WAS A MIRICLE. BUT I ONLY TOOK IT 2 WEEKS AND AFTER 1 YEAR I STILL HAVE ALL THE TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. IVE BEEN LOOKING ON THE INTERNET FOR OTHER PEOPLES BAD REACTIONS AND I WAS TOLD BY MY DOCTOR AND THE HOSPITAL, I HAD A VERY BAD REACTION TO IT. IVE SEEN ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE NEVER GOT RID OF THE KNEE PAIN AND JOINT PAIN. VERY SCARY. I CALLED PHYSIER THE DRUG COMPANY THAT MAKES LYRICA. I TOLD THEM THE SIDE EFFECTS THAT I WAS HAVING AND THE FIRST QUESTION THEY ASKED ME WAS HOW WAS MY EYE SIGHT. I HAD A FIT. I TOLD THE THE DOUBLE VIOSION AND BLURY VISION WAS BAD. THEY MADE THE COMMENT TO ME THAT PHYSIER WAS DOING A STUDY ON THIS SIDE EFFECT. I WAS IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT, THAT WAS BAD ENOUGH, BUT THIS DRUG LYRICA HAS RUINED MY LIFE AND THERE IS NO CURE. Does Lyrica Mess Up Your Liver? I started taking Lyrica for 3 weeks now for my Chronic Facial Pain. I had taken all the chronic pain meds and nothing work. I was diagnos with this illness since I had a root canal done, I even got 2 teeth extracted though the pain would go away. Anyway, I am now having some reaction, my feet and legs feels fat. However, my pain is about 4 in a scale of 10 being very painful. I take Lyrica 3x a day with 50 mg each along with oxycodon (if pain does not go away) and motrin 800 mg for head aches. I been on norcotic medicines for 2 years and now with Lyrica and etc. I am just wondering if the chronic pain actually go away? Lyrica I have herniated discs and sciatica. I was referred to a pain management doctor, who prescribed Lyrica. After reading all of these posts, and finding out the side effects, I'm not sure I want to take this medicine. Has anyone had good results with Lyrica, without these side effects? Lyrica The Wonder Drug I used to take high doses of narcotics for severe neuropathy pain. That crap almost killed me and destroyed my life, leaving me destitute and homeless. I had to move in with my sister, and then some friends to stay off the street. I have been taking lyrica for several years and it helped, even while on the narcotics. Since going off the narcotics, I hav relied entirely on Lyrica to deal with the pain. My doctor changed my dosage about a month or so ago to 300mg twice a day and soon to 300mg three times a day. The difference has been amazing and the neuropathy pain is almost completely gone while the Lyrica is in effect. Zapping Senation I just started taking Lyrica. First, I was told by my doctor to take 75 mg for 3 evenings, and then I was to increase the dosage on the 4th day. I was to take another 75 mg in the a, so I would be up to 150 mg. The problem is that I woke up during the night after the 4th day, 3 times with a zapping sensation. It felt like my chest area. I decided to stop taking it, and I called my doctor and he wants me to continue with it. He said to take the 75 mg for a week, and then increase it again. He wants to give it a chance. The reason why I'm taking this is because I had a spinal fusion 1/9/08 at levels 3-4, 4-5, and since the surgery I have numbness and a weird feeling in both my legs. The back is better, but I am scared about my legs. Has anyone with a fusion been given this drug for problems in the legs after the surgery? Lyrica I was put on Lyrica 75mg late last year now going on 150mg, for abdominal nerve pain following partial nephrectomy which I had 4years ago and I have been through HELL in terms of pain since.The improvement in my life since taking Lyrica has been simply amazing and at last I feel I can actually HAVE a life.. two or three major concerns. I am gainig weight and starting to feel very uncomfortable and anxious about that since i am a singer actor.i need to look good for my work. Also teeth are playing up. Urinary leakage,blurred vision and fuzzy brain also evident and am wondering what to do??. However its great to be able to sleep and feel SO much better generally.HELP how can i stop the weight gain. I eat really healthily and exercise but making no difference,.feel i cant control it.Clothes too tight..now i feel is it a case of Pain or Gain.. whts worse. Weight gain depressing.I just want to be able to pursue my life again. i feel SO much better generally I guess i need to find a way to control the symptoms.the Pain surgeon doesnt really listen to these worries. Lyrica Does Work Lyrica does work for myself. But I started having side effects. Double vision, being tired all the time, confusion, didn't even remember my age and that might be a good thing. Lyrica Hi all. I've been taking 300mg of lyrica for 7 mo. which has been a miracle for my spine nerve damage however I have become completely stupid (no memory) and have developed neovascular eye disease. Anyone else have this? Sorry for the post not being very clear lol as I said I'm brain dead! I almost forgot to mention the rash. I've developed a rash on my right calf only. I've been to a lot of drs an all my blood work has been normal. I KNOW it's the lyrica. I can't stop though. When I stopped taking it I was literally bedridden. The Lyrica helps so much with the pain that I've decided he side effects are worth it, at least I can function, even if I do go around in circles most of the time. Lyrica Urinary Symptoms I have been on Lyrica since my lumbar fusion surgery last October. I started the Lyrica in November and gradually increased the dose to 200mg day. Since January I have had terrible urinary symptoms like I have a urine infection which I do not. I have had a complete exam and the doctor found nothing. Lyrica Withdrawels Winging Off. I'm wanting to hear from anyone who has winged off of lyrica after so many mths taking it. I have had it with the med. I've gained 35 lbs in 4 mths. I never gain wt. I have sever numbness in hands and feet and swolleness. It's scary! I ran out one time with out getting refill, though I'd just stop it and start another tx. Well very wrong. I got so sick. I was having withdrawels and I had to get back on it. At the time it was worth getting back on it quickly to feel better. Plus the other side effects hadn't kicked in yet and not so severely. Lyrica And Alcohol You are not supposed to drink while on Lyrica. I made the big mistake of doing that. I took my dose in the morning and then got invited by some friends to go out. I do not usually drink, but started drinking around 9:30 pm. I was found in an alley behind a restaurant at 4 am. The last thing I remember was last call at 2am. I am only posting this to give a VERY strong warning not to drink while on this medication. Luckily I am OK and still alive. It is a horrible feeling to not know what happened in those 2 hours. Lyrica And Bad Breath I take 200 mg Lyrica twice a day for pain associated with Neurofibromatosis. Seems to help but my wife won't come near me. Says my breath is stinky. Not what a husband wants to hear. Have tried all types of oral solutions so problem doesn't seem to be in the mouth. Wonder if Lyrica is to blame since bad breath is a side effect.
