Stopping Lipitor I have been on Lipitor for about a year and am experiencing muscle tenderness in legs and arms - once reading other side effects, I do have other symptoms - anyway - I want to stop ---- do I have to wean myself off the drug - I want to try diet and natural remedies before needing to do drugs - doc really did not give me a choice - 247 was total but good was very high - Sunday, 11/8/2009 12:01:58 PM 3 Replies

Lipitor/ages My Boyfriend/pains My 62yro boyfriend is having muscle pains in shoulder, shuffling at night, exhausted, leg cramps, feet hurt, tingling, some memory loss, slurring of words and I am soooooooooo worried! I need testimonies, doctors articles against lipitor anything to prove to him it is stealing his health. People say he walks like an old man. His tendon snapped and he couldn't walk on his foot. He jerks when h e sleeps and I cry nearly every night because I need something, an article, someone to call him, something, a miracle to get him off this horrible drug. Lipitor/memory Loss After two years on Lipitor my wife has a serious memory loss. Dr.'s can't explain it. I tell them I believe it's the Lipitor and they say it's not known to cause memory loss. Side Effects I been taking Lipitor 40 mg and decreased it to20mg.. I had terrible back pain for over a year. This past month I was put on a antibiotic called Ktek and the pharmacy told me to stop the Lipitor while on the Ketek. I did and guess what, my back pain is gone. Weight Gain I have stopped taking Lipitor because of a few side effect problems (such as muscle pain). I have also been dieting to lose weight for the past year. Since I stopped the Lipitor my rate of weight loss has increased, from about 1 pound per week to 2-3 pounds per week. I am dieting by limiting calories and consuming low fat/high protein foods.
