Taking Kadian Fo Chronic Pain
I am and have been taking the generic form of Kadian and MSIR for well over a year now since bing involved in an auto accident which left me with chronic, inoperable pain and which corticostroids did nothing for. Over the last year, my dosage has remained the same at 30 mg every 12 hours. This may change due to an increase in breakthrough pain that is constant.I was switched off the Pain Care Centers choice of medications which was The use of the Fenanyl Patch because of my medicaids State-wide order to exhaust all other forms of Narcotic pain Treatment, those being Morphine and Methadone, which don't cost the government as much as the Patches. So long as the patient sticks to the doseage his/her healthcare professional prescribes,(and there is usually a NARCOTIC DRUG AGREEMENT for the patient to read, sign and abide by faithfully, and depending on State and Federal Regulations the patient is to be seen and monitored every 2 months(in N.H.) this could vary from state to state, I have found that using these medications does exactly what they are intended to do, so if your doctor refers you to a pain management clinic, and they suggest this type of therapy, There's really nothing to be afraid of if you start slow and go slow. this means they will start you off at the dose that is the smallest dose to help you, and raise it or lower it as needed. The only thing you have to fear is not paying attention to youragreement, at which point they will stop treatment and have your pcp slowly take you off the medication until you don't have any danger of serious side effects from being reduced too quickly. I'd rather be on the pain patch because it is a transdermal medicine which you put on and forget until the usual 72 hour change time. The reason most people don't hear much about Kadian Brand Morphine is because it is quite a bit more expensive than the same drug offered at far lower prices by other pharmacudical companies who compete with them for buisness in the hospitals and pharmacies.

I have been using kadian 80 mg , but our pharmasist never had it in stock so she would have to write me a 60 and a 20 2 x daily for chronicpain , so I go use to taking 4 pills total a day , ffinaly our pharmacy finaly started carrying the 80 mil. so I am only supposed to take 1 in the morning and one at night, I also have to take phenergan for the nausiea , and klonpin for my agoraphobia , lyesterday I got confused and took my normal 4 pills a day , i woke up this morning with a high fever and severe chills my chest was hurting , but now i seem to be ok , I was just wondering has this happened to anyone else?
