Clonazapan kLONOPIN, OR CLONAZAPAN IS ONE OF THE HARDEST DRUGS TO GET OFF OF. I HAVE SEEN THIS IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS AS A NURSE MYSELF AND AS A PATIENT OF THIS HORRIBLE DRUG. BENZODIAZAPINES SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN INVENTED. I HAVE BEEN ON THIS MED FOR 3 YEARS NOW, AND CANNOT HANDLE THE WITHDRAWELL AFFECTS NO LONGER THEN ONE MONTH. I WISH THE DOCTER WOULD HAVE WARNED ME OF HOW DEPENDENT YOUR BRAIN AND CENTRAL NERVOUS SYTEM RELIES ON THIS MED ONLY AFTER EVEN 2 MONTHS OF TAKING THIS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY DOCTORS TO SLOWLY SHAVE THE PILL DOWN OVER A PERIOD OF A YEAR IF NEEDED, AND THEN I HAVE HAD SOME DOCTORS TELL ME THAT MAY NEVER BE ABLE TO GET OFF OF THIS DRUG EVER!! WITHDRAWEL SYMTOMS INCLUDE FOR MYSELF A FEELING OF ANXIETY AND PANIC CONSTANTLY, NEVER ENDING, SHAKING, HOT AND COLD, NO APPETITE, FREQUENT DIARHIA, VOMITING, NO SLEEP, NIGHTMARES IF I AM LUCKY TO GET ANY SLEEP. WEAK MUCLES, MUCLE PAIN, EYE SENSITIVITY TO BRIGHT LIGHTS, HALLUCINATIONS SINCE THE DRUG CONTROLLS THE GABA RECEPTORS IN YOUR BRAIN, THUS AFFECTING YOUR EYE FUNCTIONING AS WELL. WORSE OF ALL IS THE CONSTANT FEAR AND PANIC, DAY AFTER DAY, WEEK AFTER WEEK, NEVER ENDING. I WOULD LIKE TO KILL THE DOCTORS THAT INVENTED THIS CRAP AND THE ONE WHOM SO CASUALLY PRESCRIBED THIS TO ME, OR BETTER YET, PUT THEM ON THIS DRUG FOR 3 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR AND CUT THEM OFF COLD TURKEY AT SAY 3MG. Clonazepam My pain mgt. doctor prescribed this med. to me for the muscle spasms I have with both MS and CRPS. I am on some other meds that I do well with even though they are narcotic- When I take Clonazepam it relieves the muscle spasms better than anything but this med makes me spacey and very sleepy. Tapering From Klonopin Hello, I've been taking 2 mg of Clonzepam for about 5 yrs. If I go longer than four days without it, I can't function. While I do have panic disorder, I'm fairly certain the feelings/actions are withdrawl. In the past month I've been able to taper down to 1.5, and I want to continue until I'm no longer dependent on the drug. I need a realistic schedule on tapering/detox, and do I just fight through the withdrawls (i.e. fingers, arms, hands curling, numbness, anxiety, etc) My Dr doesn't get it...I'm in the process of finding another, but some help in the interim would be great. Klonapin how long can a person take this medication. ive tbeen taking this drug for 3 years for anxiety. if i run out of this medication i panic i dont believe i am addicted to this drug even though it can become an addicition. i want to get off of this medication so bad i see and feel different things such as behavior and mood swings while being on this medication. even though it helps me with my attacks. i fear this medication has taken over me in some ways. it makes me see things, heart palpitations , forget things. etc but without it ifeel at times that i am having aheart attack or something. ive been to the e.r. more than you can imaging im only 35 years old. and i wont help getting off this medication klonapin. i understand that you cannot just stop taking this medicine suddenly you have to be weened off but how ive tryed. Withdrawal Reactions For Emotional / Mental Pain. If you can get weaned from PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE, you must realize that there is still the problem. As in weight loss, you lose the weight, but still have the bad eating habits!!! Pursue psychological counseling and/or self-help ie book by Berkowitz, HOW TO BE YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND, by Covey 7 HABITS OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE PEOPLE; and the list goes on and on ; self actualization concepts ie Maslow's Heirachy of Needs. Work on the SOURCE of the problem. YOU MUST TRY TO DEAL WITH CHARACTER DEFECTS FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE. don't ever give up. . A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE. wean and heal. Klonopin Side Effects I have been on Klonopin off and on for 3 years now, since my child was killed. It seems like when I end up taking it for anxiety and sleep problems, after it wears off I become Extremely moody and depressed.
