I have been on 250mg of Nuvigil 1 1/2 weeks prescribed by my sleep doctor.
First day was very good but as the days progressed I have had some mood swings, still feel like I need a nap in the afternoon, and feel bloated with a slight headache and rear neck pain. I have sleep apnea and use a cpap which stops the snoring but not feeling rested. I'm waiting for my doctor to call me to discuss the side effects and what he recommends. Not very happy at this time. Need to find a solution to feel awake and energized.

Itoo use a bipap (cpap with a breatinng rate set in machine) and nuvigil. I started with 150 mg and cut it in half because I also have sleeping problems. The 75 mg seems to help me tho I was still fatigued but at least I was awake. I discovered that the bipap was interrupting my sleep by trying to make me breathe 12 times a minute. At night I would awaken and realize it was the bipap that awakened me. My sleep md turned the breaths a minute down to 8 and I could keep up with that and I started sleeping straight through the night. I feel the nuvigil helps me also but I'mnot sure I could take 150 mg at a time. Maybe your answer is to decrease the nuvigil and maybe your breathing rate if it is set into the machine.
I too have sleep apnea...I just took my first dose of 250mg, i was hesitant to try it because of all the side effects. I foolishly took it at 5pm after work and while I would be home in case i had a reaction.

Well, i was more alert & did not crash from exhaustion, but I was up until 3am, and awoke at 7am, which means I'm gonna be shot for the day. The pill did make me feel crampy (stomach) & i did wake up with a headache...not sure I'll take this again.......any suggestions? I'm always tired by 1:00pm even on CPAP
